Re: Software update 2.4 breaks charging locations
Had the same issue after our upgrade last week. This was a feature I relied on as we have Octopus Go and no way of controlling the charger so I now have to manually start the charge at 12.30 at night and set an alarm to wake me up to switch it off at 4.30am. Obviously a smart charger would be bette...

Software update 2.4 breaks charging locations
For information - some users may find that, after software update 2.4 has been carried out, they have problems with charging locations / departure times. Essentially, you can enter such locations but they are erased after an hour or so. There appears to be a powermode connection as the setting disap...

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement
Further to my post about lost charging location settings, I've now been advised by VW that this behaviour is known and understood, at least by VW themselves. Apparently the in-dealer update operation doesn't finish the job - the Infotainment unit will continue to update (OTA probably) for "som...

Re: Incorrect range reported in the App.
Is the app reporting a different range from the car itself? I've noticed that the range often jumps (up or down) when the powermode changes (e.g. I park the car and as soon as I get out of the driver's seat, the powermode decides I've finished for a while and I may see the range change significantly...

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement
I've noticed a couple of differences: The weCharge app upgrade started to download and then stopped part way through. This has been reported by others and seems to resolve it self over time More worryingly, my charging locations (using to set preferred charging times) were cleared when I got the ca...

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement
Ours has gone in for the update this morning. They've asked for the car for two days. They also said they would try to fix the driver's seat height adjustment mechanism, which I think I broke through clumsiness. The only feedback I've seen on this dealer for other work is pretty terrible, but they ...

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement
I had the email and was able to book in to my dealership (Inchcape, Macclesfield) with no problem. The process took a day and a bit, though they tried to hold on to the car for another day because "we found another recall on this vehicle to apply some wax filler, but we had to order it in"...

Re: Car won't engage drive or reverse
I had this problem today while driving along minding my own business. I was in B mode, the car lurched forward and a message "problem with drive - please visit workshop" appeared. I noticed that the selector positions (R N D B) were all white and it appeared I was now in D mode. Fortunatel...

I sometimes preheat but (slightly dorky I know) always stop this manually before starting the car!

Range display flips
As it's winter I'm getting a lower indicated range on the driver's display panel. At the moment most of my journeys are short, so range is suffering from warm-up loss. I've started to charge the battery (even if it's only 5% down from my target 80%) just before my planned departure because charging ...

Re: Stored location disappeared
I've not been able to set a stored location. I go through the process and give it a memorable name, but when I complete, there is no list of locations and nothng to be edited.

Re: Built in Satnav vs Apple/Google Maps
I've used it a few times but gave up when it kept trying to send me by weird routes in places I knew. The routing options are limited. So I use Waze instead, on my phone, properly dash-mounted. It's free, better in most respects, and gets live feedback from other Waze users. I still find the nav map...

Re: WeConnect app - cannot start air-conditioning
I had this problem too, and the only way to resolve it was to cycle the car's ignition on/off. Rather misses the point about remote activation! The nice people at WeConnect app support told me that I should try disconnecting the car from my home wifi , because all app communication and software upda...

Emergency charging only available
If you see this message on the app or the Infotainment system (vehicle > charging) it probably means the charging connector isn't happy. Simply unplug from the car then plug in again and it will most likely fix the problem. You'll see the charging indicator next to the cable is flashing green and re...

Voice control activates itself
The last few weeks I've had the voice control system pop up a dozen times to ask me what I want to do. Unfortunately it doesn't respond well to what I often tell it and I have to wait for it to slink off and die somewhere. If it was once or twice I might put it down to slippery fingers on the wheel,...

Re: Remote heater from app iffy?
Me too. You can sit and watch the app "synchronizing" until the cows come home, it's incredibly flaky. Switch between the home screen and car screen and you'll probably see two different statuses for heating. That is, if you can actually connect to the vehicle in the first place. Given tha...

Re: Range declining with cooler temperatures
Battery capacity is lower at lower temperatures, and you're also having higher loads such as headlamps and heating. The range indicator can be misleading and seems to be based on recent performance rather than a theoretical range (which is good in a way). You may also see the remaining range "s...

Re: Voice control
I've found voice control about as good as those automated phone systems that ask you what you want to do and, after some thought, decide that they don't understand. It's slow and not very clever, so I don't use it. (Perhaps it responds better to commands in German, who knows?) However, if you press ...
