Re: From Life to Tour

It doesn’t look like the demand/supply imbalance isn’t going to change for a good while.. Even M3’s have a 9 month plus wait now… 12 months, if you want an RWD. My Dad's been waiting for his RWD for 6 months already, and there's no guarantee whatsoever he'll be matched to a car in Q3. And this is f...

Re: MY22/22.5 Clarification

Hello all, first time poster here. I think this has been mentioned by another user, but last week Plan Leasing advertised some unbelievable deals on some ID3 Max / Tour models already on order but not built - apparently build is due to be completed in September. They were offering very, very low mo...

Re: ID3 trip to southern Germany

Interesting. Confidence-inspiring for continental Ionity charging. I was surprised how few EVs I saw in France in April. Just a few Teslas, one Amie and a (British) Enyaq. By contrast I was in Portugal last week and saw lots - although no VWs that I remember. I guess it depends on which area of Fra...

Re: Dealer wants paying in advance..

Quick Q - due to pick up on Monday - and the dealer has just rung wanting the balance to be paid today ‘so it can go through’ for Monday. I’ve initially declined as I’m buying the car on spec - never seen it or the dealer… and whilst 99% sure it’s legit it niggles… Before I’ve always paid/settled/t...

Re: Delivery time

But he adamant they have added an extra 5kw as a way to say sorry for all the waiting, guess we will see when I pick it up if this is all true . Ask him to clarify - 5kw what? Motor power, or battery charging rate? Or does he mean 5kwh battery capacity as suggested above (note the different units). ...

Re: Software 3.1

How true this is I don't know but I was at my dealers this morning and I was chatting to one of the service reception guys and he said with the 2.4 rollout VW are giving £200 towards service costs as some form of recognition in their delay in getting the update out. Like I said I don't know for sur...

Re: Software 3.1

It honestly baffles me that they've spent all this time and money on this software, for it to be this half baked. They could approach Google and put android automotive in, ala Polestar and problems solved. Surely most people plug in their phone anyway so why they feel the need to reinvent the wheel...

The key there is “Co-develop”. Implementing Automotive is just handing Google the data.

Re: Delivery time

Just been told I have a confirmed week 26 build. First time I have been given a confirmed date... How long are they taking from build to delivery... You watch, something else will go wrong now, Brexit protocol or port strikes.... Maybe 2-6 weeks in build, and 4 further weeks for shipping/PDI. That ...

Re: Software 3.1

Sigh. More waiting. I feel for all of you early adopters. When they say “later this month” that means they’ll inform us later this month right? Not that the service will be starting later this month. That’s exactly what they mean. They will inform you all of when they plan to start the 2.4 rollout ...

Re: Delivery time

Do not quote me on this but I think it has to be another dealer within the same franchise/group. This is what I was told by my dealer. Yup this makes sense. Remember VW runs a franchise system so VW dealers between different franchises won’t be able to see each other’s orders, as that information w...

I think this places you in a unique position though ?

Two very similar vehicles, one running 2.3 and the other running 3.0 ?

Re: Delivery time

The changes to the MY23 configuration is currently unknown but will probably be announced in October or so. I think the document is in this thread somewhere, its just a renaming of a black paint for the id3. I don't doubt that there will be a 23.5 too. My dealer confirmed it is just a colour name c...

Well it looks like things are moving a bit with the older orders….. my Tour (ordered early Aug 2021) has also finally arrived at UK docks somewhere. Re: Delivery time

Hi all Just to say I collected my ID3 Tour Fri 20 May. Apologies for not updating sooner, but my partner was discharged from hospital that day, and I had a mild heart attack on the Sunday. All fine with me, but couldn't drive the car! Couldn't make it up - waited 10 months and then couldn't drive! ...

However, from what they know - it appears VW have put a hold on it for the moment.

Indefinitely delayed, yes. There is clearly something ‘on fire’ in CARIAD somewhere.
