Any way dealers can do this one? I've got my 2.4 update booked in for mid December, would be nice if they can do this one too.
If not, do we actually have to email VW to get added to the list?

Re: ID.3 Facelift Coming 2023
With the shoddy capacitative buttons, half of the time I’m not sure if anything actually happened. After 5 months with the car, I’m still not sure how hard to press or where to press on the buttons exactly to get them to respond. They’re a tragic mistake that should have never been signed off on th...

Re: 3.2 now in ID.3
It's interesting to see that V3.2 is being installed in new cars when they haven't started rolling out V3.0 to existing cars in the UK yet. Will VW be capable of accelerating the update process once the V3.0 roll out starts? Does anyone know what is the latest on 3.0? Is it being held up in Germany...

Re: “ ID.3 Based Compact SUV “
The ID5 was a dumb decision. A compact SUV actually makes a lot more sense (business wise), so that along with the push buttons is a step in the right direction.
Still, a little too late really.

Re: ID.3 Facelift Coming 2023
To be honest they really REALLY needed to do this. I was moaning to a colleague today about some of the silly design choices with the ID3 / Born and the obvious cost saving of getting rid of physical buttons. I love my car but it would be so much better without all these silly and sometimes dangero...

Door/window/charge port open alerts
Is there a way to enable alerts in the app (or car even) to tell you a door is open? A few times I’ve locked it only to come back hours later to see one of the doors was left slightly open. The VW pretends like it was closed the whole time (whereas other cars like Hyundai will not lock and make a lo...

Re: Your next car?
The car is fine but VW oversold it IMO. They claimed it’s going to be a revolutionary car in terms of software and it’s worse than standard Golfs. It and the terrible haptic wheel are my 2 biggest pet peeves with it and a dealbreaker given you use both every time. Need a bigger boot anyway so my nex...

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement
Mine Went in aug for 2.4, just got it back today 4 weeks later and they informed me there’s another recall just come through from VW needing it to go to a high voltage authorised centre. No details other than recall will involve AA picking it up. …….. for info I had a petrol t-roc courtesy car, no ...

Re: 1 year and 14,000 miles.Some thoughts.
Agree with everything you said, OP. I really don’t understand what VW were thinking with the software. Drove a Cupra Formentor as a rental car and the UX and snappiness of the infotainment is far superior to the ID3. I assume the Born is similar. Had I know how bad the software elements of this car ...

Re: Has anyone had the 3.0 ota update yet?
lol when you say 'Usually' ? Is there actually evidence for this or is it just what VW think will happen. (Like the 2.3 email) Haha good point lol I understand Chris couldn’t download the 3.0 OTA… I mean we are 2 years into this car now and one of the biggest car manufacturers in the world seem to ...

Re: Has anyone had the 3.0 ota update yet?
According to Chris at Battery Life, the people in the first waves (in Germany) are sent an email notifying them before the update.
So look out for that. The email usually arrives the week before the update.

Re: Unable to load connection status error
Isn't this the same problem the same as that discussed in "Stuck in Offline Mode" in this forum? Yes you're right, looks like it is. Will follow that thread in future. This error should not affect your ability to charge the car, just your ability to remotely view the progress of the charg...

Unable to load connection status error
Has anyone seen this recently?
I read that it was a thing earlier this year and the solution involves resetting the infotainment and carrying out a pattern of actions like some sort of Konami code.
Can’t seem to charge the car with this error!

It sounds like 3.0 could actually come straight after 2.4. I'm not on Facebook though. Has anyone on there mentioned if they've got the OTA yet?

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement
I doubt things are quite as bad as the impression on here but in the end it’s about trust and confidence. I know you were simply trying to see things with a glass half full...but it's funny to read your comment and then see a series of posts complaining either about the update or problems caused by...

Re: Herbert Diess ousted as VW boss
Some perspective please? Diess currently remains the chief executive of VAG, this is only a change of leadership at a single brand (VW) within VAG. VW have however canned Stefan Sommer, VW’s components and logistics exec hired in 2018. It’s quite clear to even the dumbest onlooker that there has be...

Herbert Diess ousted as VW boss
Well, there it is. If there’s any sign about how out of touch VW are, it’s got to be this. Volkswagen’s chief executive Herbert Diess, the architect of the German carmaker’s multibillion-euro push into electric vehicles, will leave the company within weeks after being forced out by union leaders and...

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement
Just to add to all of the other bad news, I went to drop off my car yesterday and as recommended to reschedule. They only have 2 service technicians and 1 of them had just gone on holiday, so they didn't seem too confident about doing the update with only 1 rep. Mine's now booked for early August. A...
