Re: Delivery time

Original build week 37, order placed end of June. We have not heard anything from the dealer since July but to be fair they did say it would be November at the time of ordering. Not hassling them as my experience of most car sales people over the years is they are not interested once the sale is ma...

Re: Delivery time

Has anyone with a build week between 38-40 been notified that their car has left the factory? Very glad to hear it. I don't suppose you would be able to share the first few digits of your VW factory order number if you have it (I maintain a little spreadsheet of these numbers and key dates so I can ...

Considering VW had memory seats listed in the brochure and many of us ordered on that basis, they really should retrofit the feature.

Re: Delivery time

So VW is at least up to 3135**** order numbers. Bodes well for Newfie, and what bodes well for Newfie bodes well for us! Still getting it in the neck from SWMBO about cancelling though and "finding the money" (😂😂😂) for the Model 3. She likes the roof, the memory seats, and the electric st...

Re: Delivery time

I reached out to my retailer this morning and they replied saying they had been in touch with Volkswagen and VW weren’t aware of any interior changes planned for November onwards.

No idea which VW department they spoke to. I guess we’ll find out in a couple of months.

Re: Are Current ID.3's First Edition

No, those were special limited edition cars which are no longer available to buy from VW (new at least). All cars being delivered now either come in the Life, Style, Family, Max or Tour trims.

Re: ID3 impressions (as a family car)

Wow, gone a day and what has this turned into :o  Moving on from wipergate, the keyless entry is also superb. It’s so useful being able to walk up to the car and get in, especially when carrying shopping etc. Also the reversing camera hidden away in the badge? Brilliant! Driving the ID4, it was...

Re: ID3 impressions (as a family car)

Hi Thanks that’s a really good review , looking forward to hearing more from you. I’m usually a solo driver but have had to do a few long trips with passengers and overall they were comfortable only niggle from them was being cold in the rear. Exactly that really. My 3yo complained it was cold desp...

Re: ID3 impressions (as a family car)

Fantastic write-up rikimaru. Really appreciate the time and thought spent in this. Will no doubt help others in a similar situation. Sorry, This one's thrown me a bit, what cars have a display on the dash to show you your windscreen wiper settings? Ioniq and e-Niro. Even the e-Corsa. Think it’s a g...

ID3 impressions (as a family car)

Hey everyone, so I’ve seen a lot of reviews of the ID3 online but hadn’t come across anyone that used it as a family car. I decided to hire one for a week for our family where we did a 40 mile trip (70% motorway) and a 250 mile round trip (90% motorway). I thought it might be useful to share how it ...

Re: Selling ID.3

It’s interesting that you’re not interested in the car and only wanted it for the free miles. Out of curiosity why did you get the ID3 instead of any other EV? Rgds Needed a hatchback or estate, wanted something with reasonable range and power. Tesla’s were more than I wanted to spend. Thought the ...

Re: Newby, just about to tip my toe in the water

I see that actual stock ID3s have pretty much disappeared from Auto Trader now. When I bought ours a couple of months ago, there were 90 or so new ID3s on there. I suspect the ID.4 may outsell the ID.3 in the UK because of the fashion for SUVs. If the chancellor reduces the EV grant for sub £35k BE...

It was me and I can confirm what Utumno says. Could you kindly share that image of what it looks like on your Tour? Also, did it come with the car or is it only on cars that are built recently? Assuming it’s some hardware requirement. Edit: Just read through your posts and found it. So it sounds li...

Area View

The brochures have had it listed for months now.

Has anyone actually seen this feature in an ID3? Or is this another example of VW typos a la memory seats?

Doesn't the map app on IOS tell you where the car is? Apple Maps only tells you when it detects you’ve parked your car, because it records the location when you disconnect CarPlay. If it gets stolen then Apple Maps has no way of knowing where it’s going. "because it records the location when y...

Re: Infotainment Swtiching Off when stepping out of vehicle

Pressing park and leaving the car tells the car to turn off. If you then press the “start” button on the side of the steering mount, it should turn the car back on and let you keep infotainment etc running.

You very quickly get to learn your car/drives so the "splash and dash" approach :D is exactly how we drive too.
Why is that?
