Re: ID.3 LED headlight adjustment for driving on the right (NOT Matrix LED)

SHould be automatic via GPS, when you get to France they will change on their own. It's in the manual. "If you have to drive a right-hand drive vehicle in a left-hand drive country, or vice versa, the dipped beam of vehicles with advanced main-beam control or dynamic cornering light may dazzle ...

We are in the process of adding solar PV and a Powerwall battery to the house for many of the same reasons, store what we produce and use at peak times, charge at Octopus Go low rate and use during peak times (mostly on cloudy days and winter months). Octopus/Tesla have the tesla tariff which is £0....

Re: The Chancellor is set to lose out on billions

As soon as some electronic device for road charging is installed. There will be those who manage to bypass it/modify it etc Petrol was an easy fix a few pence per litre for tax that way the old dear Down the road pays next to nothing for a trip to the shops once a fortnight yet the 20k mile a year ...

Re: The Chancellor is set to lose out on billions

I'll go with you in with a joint bid... Seriously though, London (inside north & south circular) already has the capability to turn this on just using number plate recognition. Then there are various toll roads and bridges already in place and of course the Govt has to do something. There are fe...

Road pricing is used throughout Norway. Zero emission vehicles get a 50% to 100% discount in many places - but not all. You pay monthly by miles driven and vehicle type with the most polluting paying the most and so on. The system is call Autopass and each vehicle has a small electronic toll tag fi...

Re: The Chancellor is set to lose out on billions

The treasury raised £28 billion from fuel duty in 19/20 and on top of this there was VAT on top of the fuel. Then the road fund license (which we know isn't spent exclusively on roads) adds extra to the pot estimated to be north of £40 billion which represents about 5% of government revenue. So thes...

Re: The Chancellor is set to lose out on billions

If you use a public resource such as a road you should expect to pay for its upkeep and future development, otherwise we will end up with dirt tracks. Everyone who uses a resource should contribute to its development and upkeep, the more you use it the more you should contribute. Right now cyclists,...

Re: The Chancellor is set to lose out on billions

Instead the EV charge point software reports the number of kW delivered to an EV, and the electricity company applies the duty. Or the car could, or both. Every current “smart” charger does all of this already except link back to HM Treasure, so it seems a small step to simply charge a surcharge on...

Re: Timed Charging

There are loads of threads on this issue. In the ID3 software versions 2.1-2.3 timed charging is broken, it just doesn't work reliably if at all Delete all locations/timed charges in the car schedule and just use the car to charge to your desired battery level (VW recommend 80% for everyday driving)...

We collected this afternoon so delayed by 5 days but at least we have it. Dealer gave some interesting insights today - up to a year lead time on cars and 80% of sales are ID3/4. We could sell our car tomorrow for several thousand more than we paid today as demand is so strong! Enjoy you car, ours ...

Re: Can you use IPOD Classic in ID.3?

You could probably use the Kokkia Bluetooth adapter in the ipod
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004I408OW/ ... DYFPN2RM3P
And connect to the ID3 using Bluetooth.

Not tried it, but it might work.

MIne needed a new glass sunroof and that only took a week, I understand most of that was waiting for VW to sort out the warranty process. So it seems parts are available.

Re: ID3 Software Update v2.3

Given up stressing about it, from what I see the 2.3 update doesn't do much and it might or might not arrive some day. Not going to park near a 4G mast, nor wait 60 seconds before starting the car every time and stroking my lucky rabbits foot.

Re: Vehicle jack & wheel bolt wrench (spanner) ?

MInd you, the thought of jacking the car up at the front or rear on a scissor jack high enough to take off both wheels on the same side of the car so I could swap them over fills me with fear, the possibility of the car tipping off the jack while removing the wheel furthest from the jack would creat...

No that is correct, ID cars get 3 years breakdown cover. "If your Volkswagen is under one year old, you have Volkswagen Roadside Assistance provided free of charge. Cars in our ID. range and Touareg have three years’ complimentary cover." https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/en/owners-and-drivers/...

Just had mine replaced under warranty, there were bubbles in the laminate layer between the two pieces of glass. Two day job, most of the interior comes out before the roof can be accessed.

Re: Turning Off Lane Assist

The way I read it, the VW manual says "Use the lane keeping system only on motorways and well-developed country roads." So the expectation is that you will be switching it off in certain situations and therefore it makes no difference what the default setting is. The legal situation has al...
