Re: Delivery time

I think the Polestar is a superb car and would definitely be my car of choice if I could both afford it and justify it. My current milage is very low, generally around 50 miles per week with the odd longer trip from time-to-time, so as well as being unaffordable for me, it is just 'too much car' for...

Re: Turning Off Lane Assist

I am still waiting for my id3 which hopefully will be delivered towards the end of this year. However, when I test drove the car, a large proportion of the mileage was on narrow rural roads with very poor road markings, at relatively high speeds, and I hadn’t even considered the Lane Assist feature ...

Re: Delivery time

Hi Turquoise - I hope you will have more luck than I'm having. I ordered my Life Pro Performance just five days after you, and I too was quoted 26 weeks - early April 2022. A week or so later this was revised to 30 weeks - beginning of May 2022. Last week my dealer advised that I had provisionally b...

Re: Hurrah for Utumno!

Yes, I’m in almost exactly the same position. I ordered my Life Pro Performance in White with East Derry alloys on October 11 and was quoted 26 weeks. By the time the end of that week the dealer was saying 30 weeks, but yesterday I was informed that my build week had been allocated - week 36 in Sept...

Re: Collecting our 1st EV on Wednesday

Congratulations you’ve done amazingly well - so envious! I ordered mine early October, and it’s not even scheduled to commence build until September. Add a few weeks in build, and a couple of months delivery and it will be a 14 - 15 month compared to the initial 20 - 26 weeks I was originally quoted...

Re: Delivery time

Hi Andrew, yep it's all looking very random. You're week 18, I'm 36, and yet poor old Mike225 - who has ordered a virtually identical spec to mine, two days earlier than me through DTL, has been quoted week 45!

Re: Delivery time

I've just this morning heard from the dealer that my build date is provisionally week 36 (7-13 September). Unfortunately, allowing for say a further six to ten weeks from then before I can take delivery of the car, this would be October/November, and it really doesn't work very well for me at all. I...

Re: New order placed in Derbyshire

Hi Helen and welcome to the forum! I too went with DTD and was quoted 30 weeks back in October, so hoping for late April/early May - but haven't had a build date confirmed yet - fingers crossed. I haven't organised my charger yet - but was thinking of Pod-Point, but only because they are recommended...

Re: 2022 ID3 Production Sold Out

From what I read somewhere on-line somewhere a few months ago, the facelift in 2023 is the usual mid-cycle update - most models from the major manufacturers are in production for about 7 years or so before the next model cycle comes on stream. The mid-term updates I read about included deletion of t...

Re: Delivery time

When you look at the figures smitten, I think you must be right! 😊 Thank you for pointing this out - that’s actually quite reassuring, I’ve always been a ‘numpty’ when it comes to figures!

Re: Delivery time

If the production process is taking up to 15 weeks, the cars must be going on and off the lines several times, as well as being parked-up for extended periods. When I visited the MINI plant in Oxford, the timescale was normally - 24 hours for the bots to build a shell, then its around 2 days to go t...

Re: Delivery time

Thanks Andrew for the background advice and sharing your previous experiences. Yes, I suppose for those of us purchasing our first factory-order VWs, the lead-times do come as a bit of a shock. I know if one is looking to have an Aston Martin or a Morgan, the delivery times are many months, but I ha...

Re: Delivery time

I'm with DTD and their dealer in SE England. I have contacted them twice this week, and have had email replies from Eve at the dealership, but I still haven't been allocated a build week - they have said they will update me when they have some news. Life Pro Performance, White, East Derry Alloys - o...

Re: Delivery time

I've just contacted the dealer again a moment ago, still no build date scheduled. A very pleasant and courteous reply, but reading between the lines - don't call us - we'll call you. I guess I will just have to be patient! id3 Life Pro Performance, white, with East Derry Alloys. Ordered October 9th ...

Re: Delivery time

Hi Andrew, really good to see that you have an approximate date - did you chase them or did they contact you?

Like you I'm with DTD and liaising with their dealer and I contacted them on Monday but hadn't been allocated a build date at that time.

Re: Sold back my ID.3 after a year

I had the use of a MINI Electric for a few days at the end of November, and in the sub-zero snowy conditions at that time, it too was returning one mile for each one percent of battery power, on local short-distance enthusiastic brisk driving on the back roads near home. As virtually all of my journ...

Re: New ID3 Orderer from Ireland

You're not just neighbours, you're family - I love going to Ireland! Yes, it's a long wait at the moment, I ordered in October and I'm still waiting for a build date, but as 'Newfie' said - I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

Re: VW – The Future

Hopefully VW will learn from any mistakes they have made in several areas recently and will rebound stronger and more innovative than ever. But just because they are one of the industry's largest and most successful legacy manufacturers, doesn't guarantee them a bright future, or indeed, any future ...
