Re: D versus B safety
B mode here too, I just like the way it drives. I still hover my foot over the brake when I think I may need it. Left foot braking? Nope, I just remove my right foot from the accelerator and hover over the brake. That way I can slow down more if I need to or come to a complete stop with a light tou...

Re: ID3 trip to southern Germany
Interesting. Confidence-inspiring for continental Ionity charging. I was surprised how few EVs I saw in France in April. Just a few Teslas, one Amie and a (British) Enyaq. By contrast I was in Portugal last week and saw lots - although no VWs that I remember. I guess it depends on which area of Fra...

Re: ID3 trip to southern Germany
Why is that? When here the 350kw charge fee is 30% per KW more than a 50KW charger and if you look at the charge curve for the ID3 the max charge drops off very rapidly to 65kW. It depends on the % charge you start with. So depends on the how quickly you need to charge but paying 30% more and using ...

Re: We Charge offer
Normally the WeCharge service is free during the first year for the BASE service. (Level 1) This gives a DISCOUNT on the charging fees negotiated with providers on the network Level 2 - There is an optional subscription based service for those who do more external charging giving a higher discount o...

Re: ID3 trip to southern Germany
Glad the trip is going well. In general most of the autoroute services have modern chargers. Most are Ionity from my experience. Note the High Speed 350KW or 150KW have higher charges than the 50KW versions. Note the charge curve for the ID3. 50KW maybe the better choice and just as quick. The WeCha...

Re: Does in car scheduled charging work now?
Different opinions on this topic. For me the scheduled charging via the infotainment system or / app works 80% of the time. It charges to the lvel I set on the app. 80%, 90% or 100% of battery However the 20% it doesn’t work is a bummer… and Sod’s Law means it happens when I really need it. So I agr...

Re: Understanding the info screen / range / MP?
You can set different settings for this, but most people in the UK use miles/kWh, which is probably set as the default if you have a UK car. Yes, it's basically the equivalent of mpg. It's literally how many miles you get per kWh of battery used at your current consumption (which varies all the tim...

Re: Sanya Summer Wheels
There may be a 'shop-front' in Germany, but the fact they are called 'Sanya' implies Chinese origin/ sourcing or?..... And 12000 positive feedbacks doesn't mean much on e-commerce, because no guarantees they are not fake. For info: Sanya is a famous holiday resort in Hainan island... used to be a s...

Re: Journey advice - charging
Off to France in June and some Tesla charging stations there now take non-Tesla vehicles. This is good because a typical Tesla station there has 20 or more charging points. There are comments on We Charge from ID3 owners saying "charge successful". One charging site information says you n...

Re: Don’t buy an Ohme Charger
I am not convinced this is just the Ohme charger to blame, but from what I have read in this Forum it might be good to make sure the charger has been set up to deliver maximum charge. However, maybe the settings on your VW are over-riding the ones on the charger? In my experience, the car setting (d...

Re: Charging level shows the same in ID connect app
Sometimes have same glitch but seemed to fix itself. One cause for me has been when the car is parked in our garage - and signal from Wifi / mobile network is very weak. Sometimes changing something in charge profile (eg departure time) is enough to force an update. Unlikely to be your problem, but ...

This is beginning to sound like children in the playground, so would encourage those concerned to think about their behaviour. This forum is not 'Twittbook'. Re: First service cost
This has been covered in previous posts about a month ago. VW mechanics must be driving around in Rollers and wearing Rollex judging by their hourly rate. You need to check an independent service provider on line, you would get a service for £100-£120. As said it 2years unlimited I must correct you...

Re: VW We charge / Elli
Tbh I went for a VW Charge Go solely because I’m doing a long drive to the south east of France and Black Forest on May, June. I will use Ionity as the charging ‘backbone’ and the subscription will easily pay for itself on that trip. But I’m aware no one has said much about the prices of non-Ionity...

Re: Yet another mundane question.......
Mine goes always inside the garage…. However when the car is wet, I always dry the area around the charger socket before plugging in. I have noticed that water seems to collect around the charge socket on the car even though there is a seal. Also I am not sure how good the seal between charger plug ...

Re: D mode B mode and the motorway
I prefer B on all trips except motorway, because I have got used to the 'one-pedal' driving. It is like a 'volume control' . With anticipation I hardly ever need to touch the brake pedal. As others have said, on the motorway, it probably doesn't make a difference on range. On twisty / hilly roads I ...

Re: Why are so many chargers broken?
I wonder if owners of Tesla have the same experience with their charger network? If not... why not? Is it also a problem with a sufficient number of trained electricians to repair the faults ? These paged have already commented on lead-time for installation of 'at-home' chargers. Unfortunately I hav...

33kwh battery on the SE? Are you sure on that - that’s over half the size of the non tour id3? I had an SE and struggled to get 20 miles out of it in summer, 12 if that in winter. [/quote] Yes. The battery is about half the size of the VW which is why the ‘real life range’ is around 110 -120 miles. ...
