Re: Delays + Energy price increases
The hard truth is ‘the market’ isn’t currently meeting the challenges around making EV’s more assessable and affordable as part of fighting ‘the climate emergency’. If Octopus Go changes it’s overnight tariff significantly upwards we would be in a woeful sutuation. I’d favour a nationalised grid of ...

Re: Aircon stopped working again
The dealer told us that excessive use of B mode impacted tyre wear. We do a lot of B driving as we live at the top of a steep mountain. Since he has no “proof” of this we are going to avoid B to see if it does indeed make a difference. Sceptical but doing it anyway. Makes no sense to me. Using B ty...

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement
My car has been in for 10 days now. Apparently the update is failing and Volkswagen keeps sending some solutions to the garage that aren't working. My car also has a charging issue - it isn't charging at AC 7kw chargers. They have said that "maybe" software upgrade would fix the problem. ...

ID3 interior component schematics
This is quite an interesting website with a schematic breakdown of much of the ID3 interior (1st edition oriented but I’m sure much on common).

Re: New Tyre recommendations
I recently had my ID3 Conti PremiumContact 6 tyres checked after 18,000 miles. Fronts now on 4.8 mm backs on 3.6 mm. legal limit is 1.6 mm. So pretty good.
My historic favourite tyres for grip, decent wear and quietness are Michelin Cross Climates.

Re: Distance forecast
I’m not saying it shouldn’t. But obviously there are options like: length of time to look back, weighting near measures more, adjusting window length using forecast volatility, forecasting based on an internal model of key variables that match current conditions , having an internal mode that adjus...

Re: Seat heating unbidden...
Hi. Can you remember how you found the setting for this and turned it off. I have the same problem. In this hot weather its driving me round the bend. Thanks I haven’t checked yet but I found this old post “ In the menu there is an option called “stat. Air con.” There under settings (cogwheel) you ...

Re: Delivery time
Informed today that my delivery which had an estimated September date is now April 2023. I am not a happy bunny. The guy from the leasing company was pretty sure that VW had a 6 months extension on the government grant thus mine was delayed 5 months and he thought many others will be similarly dela...

Re: Delivery time
I picked up my new ID3 yesterday. I tried to have the registration delayed until the 1st of September to get the new number plate. I was told that the car must be registered within 10 days. So missing out on a new ref plate by 4days. Anyone else have this problem ? Sorry I don’t believe that dealer...

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement
Just drove back from my 2.4 update. Had a ‘sat nav starting’ message then a complete infotainment screen blackout. It eventually rebooted itself. Apple carplay seemed to behave differently, will test tomorrow. My lighting selections changed. Not noticed anything else. Ps. The new armrest may take we...

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement
My car went in for 2.4 yesterday morning heard nothing so far (2pm on day 2). But the VW ‘health check video’ just arrived. Basically just a tyre check😂 4.6mm on fronts 3.6mm on backs. After 18,000 miles. Not bad. Conti ecocontact 6. They were going to contact me re price for armrest foam replacemen...

Re: Charging recommendations Newcastle - St.Albans
I live in Yorkshire and my daughter lives in St Albans so I’ve done that run many times in my 58kwh ID3. I always use the Duckmanton (Markham Vale) M1 stop which has Osprey and Instavolt chargers and then the M1 Ionity Milton Keynes Coach house. The former is about 136 miles from Newcastle which is ...
