Re: Delivery time
I do wonder how many cars get to the end of the production line with a fault that's picked up at the QC stage and if they then have to wait for a spare part to come available as manufacturing appears to be just in time these days and presumably any parts that come into the factory are allocated. It ...

Re: Delivery time
My Family Pro performance had a build week 38, my dealer said they would call me when the status changed but as I hadn't heard from him I chased him last Tuesday (25th and it had changed to status 38 in Emden cleared for export. He said it usually takes 7 to 10 days once the car is in the UK before ...

Re: seat cleaning
I use a Bissel Carpet Spot Clean Pro, with their cleaning solution. The results are excellent and the detergent doesn't have too much perfume in it. It leaves the seats a little damp, but they dry out within a few hours. It's also great for cleaning the ID.3 rubber car mats, spray a little of the de...

Re: Cracked windscreen no.4
I had my windscreen replaced due to a crack which started on the bottom edge on a hot day when we had a hailstorm, I presume the cold water on the outside and hot car inside was a contributing factor. I looked very carefully at the screen and could see no evidence of a chip. 5 weeks later I got a st...

Re: New rear tyres at 12000? Really?
I haven't had any punctures in my 19" Conti's. I've done around 24 000 miles in my 1st edition. The rears still have over 3mm of tread left. I ordered the Andoya 19" alloys for my replacement ID.3 partially because I think the look good, but also that way I hopefully won't get Bridgestones...

Re: 3.2 now in ID.3
It's interesting to see that V3.2 is being installed in new cars when they haven't started rolling out V3.0 to existing cars in the UK yet. Will VW be capable of accelerating the update process once the V3.0 roll out starts?

Re: ID.3 Facelift Coming 2023
I quite like the haptic buttons and will be sorry to see them abandoned. The only buttons with the dual pressure function are cruise control speed selectors. Rather than going back to buttons, making the 5mph push harder would have worked. Each to their own. Part of the reason for going for touch sc...

Re: Delivery time
It looks like the Danube Highway ship is due to arrive in Sheerness from Emden tomorrow at 7am, I wonder if it'll have our long awaited ID.3's on it.

Re: Delivery time
I've just called my dealership and it looks like my replacement ID.3 is not at status 38, in port and cleared for shipping, although he also said it's in the UK which made no sense. Hopefully in the next few days I'll have a date when I can pick it up. There is no finance to sort out on it other tha...

Re: Winter Driving
As the weight is nearly 50-50 between the front / rear wheels the traction is very good. I've only noticed slippage a couple of times when really hoofing it with the full power and both times the road was wet, one of them I was going around a corner and I felt the back step out a little. It hadn't r...

Tom
That's fantastic news. I hope you really enjoy your car when you finally get your hands on it.
Hopefully my nearly identical spec week 38 car will make it out of the factory soon.

Re: ID3 pro performance vs new Niro EV
Having had the windscreen replaced on my car, there are a couple of micro slots in the black area of the bottom of the screen that have sensors under them. The car uses them to park the wipers in the correct position. To swap the wipers over would require a different windscreen and the sensors to be...

Re: Above 80% and below 20%, which in theory does more damage to the battery?
I'd go for a charge to 90%, there's already a buffer built in to the battery (58kWh usable, 62kWh actual), and judging by the maximum voltage in the cells, there is a buffer at the top end so you're not really charging much above 80%, At the end of your day having 20% left in the battery feels much ...

I asked my dealer on Tuesday and my week 38 build was still down as status 20 on the system, he said it won't be updated until it reaches Emden?

Re: ID.3 Family pro 4000 miles in....
I'm not too bothered about the hard plastic feel of the door cards, but they do tend to mark easily. I only have to touch them and they get a light grey mark. Both my Wife and I think that the internal soft door rests are a little too low. I don't mind the haptic buttons on the steering wheel, the s...

Re: Delivery time
Does anyone with a week 38 build (last week) have any updates? One thing I didn’t realize is how far Zwickau is from emden, it’s the other side of Germany 😂 It's about 300 miles, presumably a bit more by train, but at an average speed of just 18 KM/H that's just over a day from the factory to the p...

Re: Delivery time
I already posted on Saturday morning that my dealership emailed me to say my week 38 car is still remaining on status 20 week 38 which implies that it has been built, he said it won't change status until it leaves the factory when it will change to status 30.
