Re: Delivery time
[quote=Tom_1985 post_id=31675 time=1664008379 You’re fine with regards to the grant mate, all vehicles ordered before 31/9/21 are protected by VW UK. I put it on here a few weeks back. Ours is the same, had a screenshot yesterday no change or vin, our dealer did say some are jumping straight to stat...

Re: Delivery time
My dealership emailed me to say my week 38 build is still at status 20. Ne said this is good news. He's copied in a screen shot of the order and there's no VIN number on it. He said the status will remain at 20 until it leaves the factory, is this correct? It's a year to the day of when the order we...

Re: Parallel Parking in ID.3 using Reversing Camera
Around me, parking spaces on the street are usually tight affairs. I often find when you have a car close behind you and want to edge backwards a bit that you touch the accelerator pedal to release the brake and get the car moving, as you're quite close to the car behind even the slightest touch on ...

Re: Delivery time
It's the build week that I was given a month ago (status 20), I'm hoping it hasn't moved as I've heard nothing from the dealership as usual.

Re: Delivery time
It sounds like you would be better off paying the £2500 in cash, taking out a bank loan to cover it if need be and not giving them the opportunity to re-calculate the whole repayment with a higher interest rate than they've already agreed. While you're at it you could always ask them what they expec...

Re: E-boost for ID.3?
There's probably little scope for bigger front brake discs, the maximum size is dictated by the rim diameter. As both cars have 18 -20" wheels the discs are probably nearly the same, The rims could be a slightly different profile to accommodate an extra 5mm on the radius of the disc. When compa...

Re: V2H Capabilty
im assuming that this wont work with existing chargers like Zappi or Hypervolt. No, Your car battery is DC so there needs to be an inverter involved. If you have a home battery then the inverted output can be sent directly to it and you then won't have to synchronise the AC to the mains supply. Exp...

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement
Is it just the car play buttons that are out of alignment? I've known touch screens need an alignment. The old chart plotter on my boat would forget its calibration and I had to do a calibration routine which involved touching 25 points on the screen, it then saved the calibration to non volatile me...

Re: Delivery time
I've just phoned my sales man and my delivery date has slipped from week 37 to 38, but on the plus side it's now at status 20 so a confirmed build week, and the model year is now 23.

Re: Delivery time
If you look on the German VW site it has 3 variants, non of which have the panoramic roof or matrix headlights. It appears to only be in the right hand drive zones that are limited to one model. A few Family model cars have been coming through though, I've stayed at number 30 on the spread sheet ( g...

Re: Delays + Energy price increases
Even with the temporary increases in the price of energy, your ID.3 Max will work out way cheaper than a petrol car assuming you can charge at home. Octopus Go is 7.5p per kWh, which works out at about 2p per mile. How often do you anticipate going over your 300 miles of range and needing to charge ...

Update from Marshalls: Your vehicle is currently in transit from factory. This is usually takes approx. 6 weeks to arrive with us. !!!! Looking at the ID.3 spread sheet, comparing the build week to the in transit to port date and arrived in country date, it looks like it's generally 1 week for each...

Re: Delivery time
When I ordered the car the dealership selected one of the cards that they had pre-ordered in July which was the colour that I wanted. I changed the spec for the wheels to the 19" Andoya's as they have the self sealing tyres that aren't Bridgestone. I suspect the change of name and wheels reset ...

Re: Delivery time
Wow, I've just phoned up my dealership for an update on my replacement ID.3 and the build week has been moved forward to week 37 from week 41! That's the first time I've had positive news for months. But there's a downside, I was told it then usually takes 3-4 months for the delivery. Makes you wond...

Re: Weird issue
After the 2.3 update the keyless system on my car became unreliable. It started with a reluctance to lock, then entry as well. Unlocking with the buttons on the key worked, but only when less than a car length away. Eventually the dealership replaced the keyless locking control module which fixed it.

Re: Rear Light Cluster - Reversing light fault
There will probably be a bit of electronics in the light unit, white LED's need a voltage of between 4 and 5 volts across them so there will probably be a DC-DC converter chip to drop the voltage, with your crack in the lens it's possible that moisture has got in there and damaged things.

Re: Delivery time
Long delivery times are not just a VW problem, one of my colleagues with a MG ZS EV on order told me that his delivery date has slipped to April next year which will be almost a year from his order being placed.

I suspect that's going to be a new windscreen. The windscreen comes with the plastic holder for the sensors and camera bonded to the screen and they clip into the holder.

Re: Delivery time
I can understand that when there have been component shortages for some of the options in some models it makes sense to make the variants that don't require those parts i.e. Life, but what seems really off is that when they can manufacture the higher spec models with more electronics they seem to do...
