Re: Timed charging for Octopus Go

I still haven't found the right balance here. Using the Ohme, historically, to control charging (I'm also on GO 00:30-4:30) worked perfectly, every time, but I encountered a hurdle with remotely heating the car prior to departure outside of the cheap hours* So I switched to using the car to control ...

Re: Cruise control efficiency

Not a range test as such, but did a 136 mile trip from home to North Wales just after Xmas, with ACC on, and pressed the brake pedal 4 times during the whole journey there. Incredible really. On the way back, I pressed the brake pedal about 8 times, but that included stopping for a charge. Make sur...

Re: ID.3 1st software update

Yesterday, out of the blue after badgering VW about the upgrade for several months, I received the email to provide consent to upgrade to v2.3 Consent given. Now for the wait for the first of the 2-part download, followed by the wait for the second. Do I switch off the lights? Do I sit in the car fo...

Re: Charging irony

To bypass a potential sync issue between the app and the car, have you tried setting the max charge to 100% in the car itself? (Home screen -> Vehicle -> Charging)

Re: Ohme Home Pro v Wallbox Pulsar Plus

Suspect it’s the 5p rate that prevents tge charge and also it seems to want me to disconnect and reconnect to finish one charge before starting another Does yours do multiple charges without disconnecting ? Or any tips!! Thanks in advance Yeah, it's the 5p thing. I can perform multiple charges (via...

Re: Ohme Home Pro v Wallbox Pulsar Plus

Good questions there. The Ohme app has a setting to allow/disable charging below/above a manually set price-per-kWh setting that you apply, depending on your tariff. This can be easily disabled for times when you need to boost in an emergency regardless of time-of-day. For example, I'm on Octopus Go...

Re: Ohme Home Pro v Wallbox Pulsar Plus

I can't directly answer the question, but one consideration: Our internet went down overnight after we'd gone to bed. The house is pretty much automated, but the downstairs lights hadn't switched off and the dishwasher hadn't cycled as it should. But the car had still charged as requested (via the O...

Re: ID.3 1st software update

Meanwhile, a family member with a Model 3 received a software update yesterday morning with the extra feature (the following vid isn't their car, but an online example of the feature): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhxQFhfu0xY&t=6s Watched it in real life last night. Impressive. I've asked VW ...

Re: Price increase on Octopus Ohme Go offer

In my case (Ohme app on Android) - I select the menu option -> charge schedule-> settings, then disable the 'x.xx pence per kWh' option.

The Ohme charger will then charge the car as soon as plugged in until as full as the in-car selected max-charge is reached.

Re: Price increase on Octopus Ohme Go offer

Set the max charge limit (80%/85%/100%/etc.) as preferred in-car and let the Ohme app deal with the timings. I'm still using the Ohme 'unfixed' charger as a 10amp/3kWh granny charger, so I've also enabled 'Reduce AC charg. current' in-car. I have 5p set as the max value allowed to charge in the Ohme...

Re: Price increase on Octopus Ohme Go offer

Love the Ohme in-line ('smart') charger. Lucky to grab one in September for £199 via Octopus, with 32A commando plug. Plan to have a 32A interlocked Commando socket installed on the wall in an inconspicuous location to plug the Ohme into. Before then, I have a 32-amp-Commando-socket-to-16-amp-comman...

Re: Random pulses through steering wheel

Are you veering towards/over the dotted lines in the middle of the road with ACC enabled? Sometimes this happens to me when the lanes get narrow - the steering wheel reacts with a pulse and a slight turn away from 'danger'. It feels like a successive number of pulses (like when you press a steering ...
