Re: Baby ID.3 on its way - awww, bless.
I don't understand why it might be called a Golf. Surely the ID3 itself is a Golf replacement with every dimension being so similar to the Golf? Shouldn't it be an ePolo or ID2?

Re: Exclusions from Service Plan
I also have this service plan, but nearly got caught out by an 'upsell'. I had my first service on the plan in December at 2 years old and 46,000 miles. As has been the practise of my dealer when booking in for software changes, I received an email asking me to book in on line. I have normally done...

Re: new tyres
Only issue with contiseal is that there is a limited band in which it will work. Typically on wife's id3 the nail went into the area that was not covered.
+++ Apologies, it was the Goodyear tyres with the self sealing that she has.

Re: Version 3 OTA update
I asked dealership if car could be upgraded directly from 2.3 - 3.0 they said it was not possible. They provided a courtesy car upgrading from 2.3 - 2.4 then to 3.0 would have taken two day’s minimum so this was never offered. If VW delay OTA 3.0 much longer I’m going to contact dealership to perfo...

Re: What Lays Ahead?
As is always the case, forums are the way that many people can complain about elements of their vehicles. There are very few people who would register and post that their car had performed faultlessly and so you don't tend to read about them. Our ID3 has just done 20000 miles in two years and so far...

Re: For octopus customers
What is interesting is that Octopus Go Green is only available to VAG cars: Octopus Go Green is our electric vehicle tariff exclusively for Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, Skoda or Cupra EV drivers. All our electricity tariffs are green but with Octopus Go Green, we've purchased the power directly from rene...

That's really weird. We've never experienced that on ours but there may be someone on here who has. Welcome to the forum!

Have you tried asking your local VW dealer? They may be very happy to get a car that they can sell immediately for a little profit.

Re: Coming up to 1.5 years with the ID3
I agree with the original poster and find the car excellent. Much is made of problems with the infotainment system, but to be honest I use CarPlay and that makes the infotainment system a bit irrelevant. I agree on lack of rear speakers and lighting on the volume sliders - these seem silly omission...

Re: Do I need to have my service done by a VW dealer?
I would go to VW for the ID3. There are too many things to go awry with the warranty for the sake of a two year inspection. Without knowing the exact checks that VW do it would IMHO be a riak too far in case anything happens within the warranty period.

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement
Booked car in again for 2.4 update on 28th December. It will be interesting to see whether it actually gets done or is cancelled again. The service advisor was not very confident that they would have the batteries.

Re: My ID.3 is off the road due to a slow puncture
Nail in a tyre is a £20 job,no need to change whole tyre unless you don’t have to pay extra for the tyres . It depends on where the puncture is. There is a limited area that can be repaired on a tyre. Our ID3 had a puncture dn we had to get a new tyre as the nail was within a certain distance of th...

Re: id3 keeps resetting mode back to 'Comfort'
That's strange that they would reset the drive system but retain the previous mode name. How would a driver know which drive mode the car was actually in then?

Re: Door mirror woes
Reopening an oldish thread but this has happened to us a couple of times, including this morning. Wife went to drive off and mirrors firmly closed. Moving the mirror opening switch did nothin, nor did locking and unlocking car. In the end I had to manually push them open so she could head off. Annoy...

Re: Trip report - NW England to France and back
It does make the adoption of pay by credit/debit card so much more desirable. We used the gridserve chargers at the Peterborough services yesterday and the ability just to waft our credit card at the machine and start charging was great. No app or rfid card, etc.

Re: 3.2 now in ID.3
Considering they cancelled our 2.4 update after we had dropped off the car at the dealer, talk of software 3.2 is somewhat galling.
