Just had an email from local dealer saying that our ID3 is overdue its first year service.

I knew that the ID3 did not need servicing for two years, but I contacted VW anyway to see what they said. The service representative was pretty useless to be honest just telling me to do what the dealer said, but he did link me to this page on the VW website: https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/en/owners- ... ctric.html

Here you will see that the first inspection service is said to be at 18000 miles or two years, with another inspection service after another 18000 miles or 12 months. It also says that an extended service is due at 36 months or 36000 miles. This seems rather confusing as I had read that the ID3 was inspected at 2 years unlimited mileage but I can't find any real information about the service intervals, especially as the ID3 has disappeared off the VW website for the moment. Is there an inspection service at 36 months or an extended service?

Does anyone have a definitive answer to this before I beat the dealer around the head for being plonkers? (purely metaphorically obviously!)

Take a look at viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1501

and specifically Splitty's helpful post :
The ID3 is on a fixed service interval of 2 years unlimited mileage. At 2 years they change the brake fluid, the pollen filter and carry out a bunch of inspections. At 3 years you need a MOT and then another 2 year service at 4,6, 8 etc. The reason it is not a variable mileage plan is that the only thing VW are concerned about in the 2 year schedule is brake pad/lining wear and they have electronic indicators so if they go off indicating excessive brake wear then they need to be changed or checked inside the 2 year service plans.
