Charger won’t lock
Hi
Not a great start to the week
The charger is emergency only at 1 kWh charge rate and the charger is not locking in the port.
I’ve tried un plugging it, resetting the charger, cleaning the charger terminals and cable, going out for a drive but nothing seems to work
Any ideas?

Had this in to the dealer who said everything is fine
I’ve charged twice since having it back and it’s back not locking the charger to the car so emergency charging only which is 3mph from a 7kwh charger
I’m getting the same issues on other chargers and ccs
Last time it was just after an app update and this again is just after an app update so is this related?

Have you tried pulling the manual release cord (tucked away behind the panel on the RHS of the boot, behind the offside rear wheel)?
If it is a 'stuck' auto-mechanism, a manual release may free it.

Min looks like this, when not charging. Keep us posted, if you get to the bottom of it!

So your app shows "start charging". Is that with the car plugged in and ready to charge? Or unplugged?
Mine says "not ready" when not plugged in. No problems charging at home or with rapid chargers.
That's when it's unplugged.Scratch wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 11:09 amSo your app shows "start charging". Is that with the car plugged in and ready to charge? Or unplugged?

Looking at the your screenshot and comparing with the screenshot posted by Chris, would yours be an Android phone? I suspect Chris and mine are iPhones. That may account for yours saying "ready to charge" and ours saying "not ready". I seem to remember that the iPhone app used to say "ready to charge', so I suspect an update has changed that.StuartT wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 11:41 amThat's when it's unplugged.
All this doesn't help Chris much though.
Just had a chat with the master technician who said book it in and we’ll have a look, earliest appointment is August
If the car runs out of battery I need to have it recovered to the dealer
So realistically around 10 hours a day charging for 20 miles range, if I need the extra range I’ll need to get the train to work to leave it on longer. An average month is around 1500 miles

Might be worth posting something on the id3 uk owners facebook page to see if anyone else has had a similar issue. Just in case they aren't on here.Chris wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 12:47 pm Just had a chat with the master technician who said book it in and we’ll have a look, earliest appointment is August

Had a search on the group and a few folk have had similar. Most seemed to be fixed with a unplug wait and bit and try again. Some with just trying again as the connection may not have been perfect. There was one where none of this worked and after going back to the dealer they reported that some of the wiring behind the charging socket had been nibbled by rodents.

Yes, it's an Android phone, Sherlock!Scratch wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 12:32 pmLooking at the your screenshot and comparing with the screenshot posted by Chris, would yours be an Android phone? The 'Fuse 19' trick isn't a magic bullet for all that ails an ID.3! It's just the fuse for the Communication Module, the only thing it's known to fix is the communication error. It forces a reboot of the Comms module and more often than not allows the car to connect to the central servers. Doesn't fix anything long term and is unlikely to fix anything else.

What happens if you plug in the charger and immediately lock the car - does the charger remain unlocked while the rest of the car is locked?
