Hey ID....turn climate control on (please..)

I recently discovered that I can voice command for climate control to be switched off.

But I cannot ask it to turn climate control on when it is currently off.

If I say 'Hey ID turn climate control on' it replies something like... 'That function is not currently availalbe'

Is this a fault or feature ?

Does anybody else succesfully turn the air conditioning /heating ON in their ID3 using voice commands ?

Just trying to establish if I have a fault.

Thanks, you saved me some agro.

With hindsight perhaps it is something to do with safety... that it cannot be turned ON inadvertantly via voice...but obviously OFF would be ok.

In the car today and found that you can turn AC on and off with voice control.

Also, I noticed that if you try and turn off Climate control when it’s already off you get the same response saying it’s not available. So I wonder if it’s a bug.

Might try 'Start air conditioning' tomorrow.

Not quite. The Air Conditioning is a subset of the Climate Control. When you turn off AC you will see ACoff above the temp values but the Climate Control system itself is still on and it can still heat the cabin etc.

I wonder if saying AC on can turn on the Climate Control… worth a shot! But I’m guessing the same message is likely.

In practical terms, turning AC on and off with voice control does seem more beneficial than turning the whole Climate system on and off.

I wonder what the approach of saying the problem, or asking for the effect, which is stressed in the manual is rather than trying to tell it how to achieve the effect produces?

As in "I'm cold" or "I'm hot" or "warm my seat, please" rather than "turn up heating/on a/c/seat heat" .

The state machine might be completed for the conditions and specifics before all the ways of giving specific commands have been implemented.
