Selected Mode (Sport/Comfort) not persistent.
I have found that with my ID.3, if I select "Sport Mode", then stop the car and park get out, etc, then get back in, the car is no longer in Sport mode.
I mean, it says it is, but I can feel it just isn't. And if I then select Comfort, and back to Sport it works again.
It's hardly a desperate problem, but its annoying because I don't think its a great idea fiddling with the screen whilst driving, and if I forget to do the change/change back before starting, then I'm stuck in the mode I don't want to be.
Anyone else noticed this ?

Correct, it defaults to Comfort each time you start the car, regardless of what the screen says.
I rarely switch modes so it doesn't bother me, but if I were you I would report it to your dealer so they log it with VW.

I will have to check that out tomorrow.
I really thought it defaulted to last setting. Bizarre if it displays one mode but delivers another. How do you know where you are without pushing hard?
Guess you could see by range falling or increasing!

Hi
Thanks for the info scott,
I use eco mode most of the time or at least I thought I did now I know I have to reset on each restart.
It’s shocking that the display shows eco or sport when the car is in comfort maybe it will be sorted with the update

This is interesting, and something I didn't know. I too thought I was driving in Eco mode, but obviously I wasn't! VW had exactly the same issue in the Touran we had previous to the ID.3. I will report to my dealer.

I checked my car this morning on a run. Left it in Sport last night and checked it was still displaying the same as I drove away. As soon as I changed to Eco the range increased by 3 miles. Switched back to Sport and range dropped by 3 miles.
On the face of things my car seems to retain the mode based on the range changing by mode.
Wether that means the performance is retained is a test for another day when I haven't got the Grandkids with me.

The real test would have been to see what happens when you take your foot off the accelerator. If it's really in Sport mode, it would auto regen. If it's back in Comfort mode, it would coast.

I drive 100% in B these days and it regens as soon as I lift the pedal in all modes. How should I set it up to test? In D switching between Sport and Eco?Conquest ID wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 10:25 am The real test would have been to see what happens when you take your foot off the accelerator. In D I regen don’t coast, in comfort.
I rarely drive in B now, l found I was accelerating too much and convinced myself (rightly or wrongly) that it’s less efficiency than a consistent D.

Yes, use D and do the test using Sport.
However, have read this in the manual:
I would assume it will reset the Drive vehicle system (whatever that is) to Comfort.Behaviour of the driving profiles when the ignition is switched off and on
If you switch the ignition off and then back on again, the previously selected driving profile remains active.
Behaviour of the Drive vehicle system when the ignition is switched off and on
The settings of the Drive vehicle system are reset to the settings of the Comfort driving profile as soon as you switch the ignition off and on again.
The other vehicle systems retain their settings when you switch the ignition off and then back on again.
You can switch the Drive vehicle system to the desired driving profile again:
Select the desired driving profile again.

So I learn a bit more. Re-tested in D Mode Sport.
Right enough it defaults to Comfort when you first turn on until you select Sport again. Regens in Sport and not in Comfort.
The regen in D Sport seems to be lighter than when in Drive B. More difficult to one-pedal drive!
Also means I think that for weeks I think I have been in ECO and most likely been driving in Comfort mode.

However, the manual says it only defaults back the Drive vehicle system! Any idea what that means? So some settings will remain in the mode you selected, but certainly not the one that affects the regen. Maybe looking at the Individual mode will shed some light. I can't check at the moment, but I'll have a look later...Daveion wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 3:47 pm So I learn a bit more. Re-tested in D Mode Sport.
