I usually charge the car at home using the VW Granny charger.

Over the last few days I've noticed that a fan is running continuously while charging. I'm assuming that it's due to the heat (the car is currently in the shade with an air temperature of 30°c) but I'd like reassurance that it's nothing to worry about.

Yes it’s fine. Mines running now whilst charging at 7kw. When it’s on a rapid charge (50kw) the fan cranks up a few gears.

I (assume) charging makes the batteries warm/hot - which may need cooling esp on a warm day.

Yep, mine was doing that on a 7kW home charge the other evening.
