Hope everyone sitting down

Just had quote for first service on our ID 20,000 mild service (due by mileage)

£277.30 !!!

Incredible most expensive pollen filter in the world and very quick check

Sounds like dealers making money !!

Anyone else had a quote of serviced as yet ?

Ask them for a quote without the pollen filter...
It is really the most easy job possible. Its probably only slightly harder than opening and closing the glovebox!

btw - I was told (several times) it was unlimited mileage and only by time (2 years).

I spoke with vw customer service as had read numerous threads re 2 years unlimited mileage.
However a lot of checking and had email advising 2 years or 20 k

However I have spoken to the dealer who supplied the vehicle and their cost is £200 , this was what I was expecting and we have credit from VW for this amount due to time off road when we first had vehicle (like most of us with 1st Editions!)

Service manager is investigating why such a cost difference between 2 dealers

If no resolution, a full Facebook and social media blitz on the dealer as well as customer services will soon follow!!

Also vehicle will be going back to supplying dealer for service (never mind the inconvenience!)

Blimey, even £200 seems pretty steep given the actual work involved.

They do some sort of video inspection thing now at my nearest dealer... presumably to counter the I've just given you 200 sheets to have a look at it argument..

a BIT steep?? As per the VW website..

VW EV Service.PNG

An MOT is cheaper.

How is the charge cable part of the Service it's not part of the car?
Charging the battery.. no thanks I can manage that myself.

Then there will be the usual "We've noticed you've driven on these tyres, they will need replacing, Volkswagen recommends etc etc..."

Really, as part of the service we check if it's charged??? That should be a courtesy formality not part of the service.

Cost is equivalent to running my old GTE !!

I have had videos for a while now, started with the GTE

No doubt find something else , but tyres are looking good for nearly 20k

Charge lead can stay at home!

It should be 2 years unlimited mileage. If you logon to MyVolkswagen (which is working again) you can see all the options and features of your car.

This is where you can find the feature list

And this is about halfway down the page. You can see it says "Service indicator 2 years (fix) without km, electric vehicle"

So, it does seem that a standard 'service' for an ID3 is essentially the same as the free health check and report you get every time any VAG car crosses the threshold at a dealership.

Except way more expensive!!

Ford has been doing that for a few years already.

I always get a video "health check" during my services at the local VW dealership. They usually emphasise how desperately you need new tyres and brake pads (when you really don't).

Exactly it states 2 years not 20k miles. The column on the right btw is for harsher climates.

Are you sure about that? Every VW I've had in the last 10 years (6 of them prior to the current ID3s), the first brake fluid change has been scheduled at 3 years, then every 2 years thereafter, and it's been around an extra £80 over the standard service price.
