Hi All,

I'm one of your neighbours from Ireland who is looking forward to receiving my new ID3. I've been lurking on these forums for a while, there doesn't seem to be a similar forum for an Irish community so I hope you don't mind me intruding into your community.

We have ordered a 5 seater Pro S in October 2021 and only recently found out that I have a preliminary build date of April 2022. Seems an age away now but I'm eagerly looking forward to the day that I can pick it up.

You're most welcome. You are not alone as there are a few members from the Emerald Isle on here.
I know its a wait but its well worth it.

You're not just neighbours, you're family - I love going to Ireland! Yes, it's a long wait at the moment, I ordered in October and I'm still waiting for a build date, but as 'Newfie' said - I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

Welcome. I was driving rural west of Ireland roads on Saturday and was overtaken by one ID3 (I was on ACC at the speed limit) and passed another ID3. Seeing more and more of them and also Teslas on the road which is no bad thing.

Yeah I'm definitely seeing a lot of ID3's on the roads here in Ireland, but I kinda put that down to the fact that I'm looking for them now!

For future reference, what's the situation in Ireland (specifically Galway, Clare, Kerry), with availability of public chargers?

It’s worth checking Zap-Map and filter by 50kw+ chargers on the map. The national grid operator (ESB) have an increasing number of 50kw and now 150kw chargers installed around the bigger towns, but you will have to plan the journey. Best coverage is around Galway city and worst is Kerry with few fast chargers.

There are lots of 22kw ESB chargers only really suitable if you plan spending a couple of hours in a town.

The midlands would be perfect places for large charger centres. Maybe three big super centres on the M8, M6 and then Carrick or Longford would really make the entire country accessible from anywhere with most EVs.

I am happy for you that you have received a build date recently. It is amazing how dealerships in Ireland do not have any surplus stock on their books, unlike their British counterparts.I have a 58kwh ID.3 Comfort on order since November and I was told not to expect delivery until at least July.
If a cancellation came my way I would consider taking it .

There's no stock over here either. A November order arriving in July sounds like many people's experience in the UK !

It would be great if our Irish customers had access to the Volkswagen tracker.

Yeah I could do with a tracker of some kind. I hate having to ask the dealership for updates. I'd definitely take a cancellation if it close enough to what I ordered.
