Out of interest, when you say build week 49, when is that?

Is build week 1 from January 1st??

Fingers crossed for the 31st.

Wk1 is the week including 4 Jan so this year w/c 3 Jan is Wk1. Last year Wk49 was w/c 6 Dec. Most calendars have the option to display week numbers.

The dates look like a 2021 build going via the order date and I g had a similar delivery date so the information given might be incorrect from the dealer now as cars around that build date got cancelled?

Thanks @Classof74, tracker updated. Given that unconfirmed build week (which is starting the last week of March) I'd not set your expectations too much on a late April collection, unless build starts early. Hope it does though !

Hi all. I'm, thinking about dipping my toes into the EV world with an id3 but blimey I'm finding it confusing . I know what model I want ( ID.3 150kW Life Pro Performance 58kWh) And it'll mainly be used for commuting a 57mile round trip in and out of East London with longer trips occasionally. In other words pretty normal stuff.
However, I'm concerned about charging costs. I'm currently with British gas on a std tariff of 35p/Kw/h. Ok I get that. But if I move to their EV driver Tariff the peak tariff rises to 43p/kwh with the overnight dropping to 21p/kwh. So potetionally I gain with one hand and lose with the other
Currently I'm leasing a Seat Arona for £235/mth and spending around £250 on petrol. So a total of around £485. That deal finishes in Nov and the new price is £100/month more. The id3 is £411/month to lease. How can I work out if it makes sense economically to change?

Can some one either point in in the right direction or tell me how to work it out .I'd really appreciate some help
Thanks (And apologies if this is in the wrong place)

Hi Nick

There are many ways to allow you to fuel your EV 'cheaply' from innovative tariffs, a home solar and / or battery installation. Also remember than many Tesco stores have free EV chargers. Most large stores have 4 x 7kw free chargers, some even have (you have to pay for these though) Rapid Chargers. Have a look at Zap map and see if your local Tescos has these free chargers. Every little helps :)

Rather than clog this thread any more, I've sent you a DM

As a starting point you can work around an estimate of 3.5 miles/kw of charge. On the threads owners report consumptions ranging from upper 2.5 miles/kW in Winter and 5+miles/kW in Summer.
On a round trip of 57 miles you will use on average 57 miles/3.5m/kW = 16.28kW.
If you can charge at home on a cheaper tariff at night, at 21p/kW it will cost you £3.42.
A home charger delivers circa 7kW. So a 4 hour cheaper tariff over night charge can provide 28kW of charge (ID3 Bat 58kW useable).
28kW of charge will give you circa 100 miles of range. In Summer it could be more than that and in Winter could be less.
The other things you would have to factor in is the overall affect to your electricity bill.
Just like the car you have to know your kW usage to calculate what usage you have in each tariff.
The math is straight forward once you get into it.

Not much to add to what Dave said, but as long as you have a smart meter then you should investigate Octopus Go, it is far more competitive as an overnight electricity tariff than the British Gas deal. You'll find it's in the region of 7.5p/kwh (0030-0430) / 35-40p/kwh (the rest of the time.) It'd be worth comparing that against your current deal, estimating the additional car electric usage as Dave describes and assuming you manage to charge most (90%?) at the cheaper rate but no doubt do a bit at the higher rate, and factoring up your current domestic electric usage by the increase in the daytime rate.

Wow that's more help than I could have hoped for!
Thanks so much guys .I really appreciate it .
Unfortunately the lease deal for the id3 through nationwide car leasing has just gone up 35 quid a month!
Their prices seem to be really fluctuating at the moment So I'm going to bide my time and see what happens with delivery times and lease deals .
I'm determined to go this way .Just needs to make sense economically!
