The original brochures had it worded as:
Inspection service - every two years, unlimited mileage
Subsequent services every 1 year or 20,000 miles (30,000km), whichever is soonest.

Which isn't exactly clear, and there have been previous discussions around this and to mu knowledge no one has found any printed evidence, so it's still unclear.

This is from the last catalogue, dated 23/9/21.
Just states every 2 years, nothing about subsequent services.

For some people the first service will be after the warranty expires!
May be it needs to be done just before 3 years for low mileage users or with an MOT at a VW garage.

At pickup I was told two years or 20000 miles, whichever comes sooner. I was also told they're not offering prepaid service offers on ID3s as it's not worth it - they anticipate a service costing about £80 max for most customers.

Oh Dear! I was persuaded to part with £329 up-front for my first two services. :(

Cancel it? If it was upfront you should be able to get a full refund.

VW charge £80 for a service? This is not the 1980s! :D

More like £180. They will not even plug in a computer for less than £80!

My dealer quoted £100

I have no idea how true that is, but £80 is what the dealer told me. It seemed unbelievable to me, but he was quite insistant about it.

HI all.. new here. Done some reading of these posts. I have a Family Pro performance on lease ordered.

Been waiting since September, just about at the end of my tether with it all now.

order number 31454XXX
Wk45 Build started
29/12/21 - Released and Allocated to ship
As of today - Code 38 " Port of exit - released to ship "

I lost my patience with the dealership today as to why its spent so long waiting for a ship, they basically told me that the updates provided by/to VW are so out of date sometimes that its common for their status Ito be "port of exit" and the next thing it arrives at the dealer.

So I'm told 3-4 weeks until its at the dealer.. but who knows it could arrive next week.

She did say that they come into the Port of Tyne..

This I find hard to believe as when a ship is loaded and leaves Emden the dealer gets a manifest of a list of vehicles that are due for them.
Typical dealer BS

To be honest I think you are doing pretty well - I think that's the first September order, and highest order number, of anyone on the site whose car is built yet?
I suspect timescale from build completion to dealer has been delayed a little by Christmas/NY/Omicron recently, as mine also took longer than I'd expected from other people on here, and seemingly also longer than my dealer expected. It's understandable.

Great! Just like my recent experience then, I was hoping some others might follow.
