Hi all,
Just be told our Pro Performance ID3 will be ready to collect 1st September. Has anyone put together a check list for picking up the ID3? Besides the obvious of scratches and damage. I was thinking perhaps, what should the software version be, or anything else specific to this car? i have been looking through the only owner's manual I can find on-line (1st edition) and it seems a bit like trying to read "War and Peace".
Thanks

  • Software version will probably be 0792 - that’s 2.1
  • Have the We Connect ID. app on your phone, logged in, ready for pairing with the car - do that when you collect it
  • There will be a Type 2 charging lead in the boot
  • The dealer should give you a USB-C lead which works with your phone
  • There will be a 60-page "read me" manual in the glovebox

Ah yes, mats. Not officially, just a promise from the salesman. I wait with baited breath to see if they materialise.

Do they provide a hard copy of the owner's manual with the car? Or is just on-line?

I added these to my comment above:

  • There will be a 60-page "read me" manual in the glovebox

I got my mats on eBay for £30 and they seem just as good as the "official" VW ones I had in my Golf. I guess time will tell.

Sounds promising. Have you got a link to who you purchased from on Ebay?

Out of interest did they have it covered with a dust sheet ready to pull off like Mercedes & other manufacturers do?

I take it you mean the car and not the mats? :D

No they didn't have it covered. Never experienced anything like that with past cars.

Depends on the dealer, mine was sat in a corner of the car park but that was October under tighter Covid restrictions. I've seen other owners post photos/videos of theirs under a reveal sheet or with a big bow on it.

I do know someone who has always taken VW PCP and they got things like boxes of chocolates and/a bunch of flowers. I prefer the mats.

It really does depend on the dealer and how you bought it. If you get it at a huge discount through DTD or similar, you're less likely to get the super special as they're clearly a big volume dealer, so haven't got the time to do it for everyone.

If I order a car and they can't include a set of mats etc after negotiations, I know I've screwed down the best discount I can. The ID3 is the first VAG car I've bought that didn't come with a full set of mats as per factory spec. I never use the carpet ones anyway. I always buy a set of rubber mats and stick those in.

Mine was with a VWFS PCP, it came with mats (1st Edition) which I sold after getting the all-weather ones.

My dealer has thrown in free mats, special paint finish with scotchguard and a number plate fixing kit for taking my personal plate off my old car. Really hoping for the dust sheet job on handover as a surprise for my wife.
