Thanks for the updates I have updated the sheet.
And I’d just like to add my heartfelt thanks to Jim for keeping the spreadsheet updated while I’ve had considerable other calls on my time.

Many thanks Jim, you’re a solid gold trooper.

Still at status 00, this is bloody ridiculous now.

God knows if the government grant will still be applied if this goes over 12 month.
Despite the ridiculous wait, it may be too expensive for me as I’m leasing it.
What’s your thoughts on this? Would the payments go up a lot?

Thanks
Vertu called me on Monday to confirm that my car is likely to go past 12 months and the grant will not be provided by VW, Gov or dealership. They said they will do what they can to minimise the increase.

Oof I feared this might happen. VW is blaming everything possible but their own crappy planning for delays, and nothing is more likely to empty the order book backlog than the removal of the grant for qualifying vehicles.

And they can blame someone else, so nobody loses but the poor customer. Win/win for VW, schnapps all round in Wolfsburg 😔

If anyone on here was driving through Airdrie this morning in a white id3, I spotted you in the wild. The second one I've seen on the road.. probably the same car 😂

I'd like to see the dealers official response to that claim before considering cancelling. Not that I think they'd sell the cancelled cars on for an inflated price 🤔

So that would put the price of the car up by £4250 for me including the VW deposit contribution, out of interest which Vertu dealership was that, mine in Mansfield said all would be honoured.

Hi everyone,

Just an update on my order, the scheduled build date (status 10) is now week 40. I am strongly considering cancelling and getting a Cupra Born as they have one in stock in a showroom not far from me.

I am also fearful that I may lose my grant as that build date is close to a year since my order.

God damn it is a good looking car. Shame they couldn't do the firmware update for you at least. I'm presuming that also means you'll need to get the battery replacement at some point as well?

So not posted here for a long while, mainly because I cancelled my order in March. Though it looks like the shared google forum didn't get updated to show it. HOWEVER good thing it didnt, turns out my order was not cancelled by the dealer and has been built and is about to be shipped from Germany to here :-) Dealer asked if I still wanted it and I just bit their hand off! Due in 3 ish weeks, end of July. Oddly when I cancelled in March the ETA was March 2023 and not boom its coming! Just upset the Vauxhall dealer cancelling my Mokka order :-)

When you try to connect it ensure you are in a good 4G signal area. Make sure it's the We Connect ID app, not the We Connect app.

Update about grant.

To confirm, the govt grant against your order was raised 25th October 2021 – if your new vehicle doesn’t arrive by 25th October this year, the Plug in Vehicle grant team are aware of the supply chain issues all vehicle manufacturers are facing, causing extended lead times, and grants are reviewed on an individual basis if they do happen to go beyond 12 months

With regards to the lead times we are facing, we thank you for your continued patience and would like to reassure this is not an isolated issue, all manufacturers are suffering with supply chain issues post-COVID, and in addition, with some of our key components for the VW ID Platform being manufactured in Ukraine, this causes further supply issues and understandably, their current situation is harder to accurately forecast

Factory order numbers are typically not ‘ascending’ in terms of build priority, and I know that the ID.3 market has a lot of ‘pre-registered’ deals, where someone for example will place their order in December, and receive their vehicle in May, but the vehicle itself was ordered 12+ months prior to that, which causes a lot of conflicting information on what the true lead time is

Again, we thank you for your continued patience and will continue to monitor your vehicle build status and update yourself and your leasing provider accordingly

Thank you
