If I were you I'd sit at your dealers and tell them you aren't leaving until they give you more information. I'm sure they can make some calls! Annoyingly though these days it's in the dealers favour so if you cancelled they'd make a lovely little commission for themselves.

Doesn't seem like having a build week means much when cars are turning up having not had even an estimated nevermind a confirmed. And it's clear there's no discernible rhyme or reason to the order in which cars get built, so no real point in stressing over it. You'll just raise your blood pressure.

Some good news!

Contacted my dealer today and they have advised my build date is now confirmed (status 20) and has moved up from week 41 to week 34, which is 22nd to 28th of August.

So this time last week 39 weeks and no news then Thursday phone call tells me car is built and in transit to ship and will collect in 4/6 weeks had a phone call today car is at dealer have arranged to collect next Wednesday have reg and vin no , wasn’t given a choice not particularly fussed I understand you can’t use some Anglo Saxon words any way I won’t be completely happy until I drive off the forecourt.

Some good news!

Contacted my dealer today and they have advised my build date is now confirmed (status 20) and has moved up from week 41 to week 34, which is 22nd to 28th of August.

I ordered at a similar time, hope mines not too far behind??

Contacted my dealer today and they have advised my build date is now confirmed (status 20) and has moved up from week 41 to week 34, which is 22nd to 28th of August.

Yes would be interested to know if yours has changed to status 20 also. We’ll see if the dealer tracker actually starts giving out realistic information.

It definitely looks like mine isn’t one of the phantom turn up out of the blue orders. Seem as though they had a pile of car sitting unfinished in various states and they are just assigning them last minute?? Who knows.

Apparently it’s the assistance pack that’s holding ours up, had a long chat with VW on Monday, also they are now changing over to MY23 build, ours was showing week 26 status 10. Now it’s showing nothing at all. Dates have removed. VW head office told the dealer that the system was being rebooted to reflect the MY23 changeover. Could be a reason why cars are now locking at status 20 much earlier. I was also told that VW are prioritising vehicles that qualified for the PICG. As VW have vowed to honour the grants. So obviously they’re smashing them out now as they don’t want to cover those costs if they don’t have to

Build weeks are over-rated. They mean nothing. They can be changed in a blink of the eye.

Hassling dealers is over-rated. Achieves nothing. They get zero reliable information from VW Zwickau.

The sequence in which cars emerge from the factory is absurd, with Sept orders somehow overtaking July orders, but there's no indication anybody has ever achieved a change to that sequence, no matter how much energy and stress they've put into trying.

When does the MY year tend to move change?

I know from past posts there is expected to be minimal changes between my22.5 and my23.

Was told a month ago that it was status 10 and build was proposed for this week (w/c 11th July) but never confirmed and obviously didn’t happen

Yes my dealer has been giving build weeks from day 1. All estimated though and now they are saying confirmed.

Another update : car is now with the dealer awaiting PDI - planning to pick up next week
I hope other folks' cars will now progress ...
