Delivery time

Hi guys,

At least you have the information on when the car is being built. Just had my monthly update with the dealership and still no build week, she only confirm the order is accepted by VW. Ordered in the end of September 01 and was quoted 20 weeks for delivery.

Some interesting feedback this week though is that Dealer has said it will now be a MY 22.5 build including changes such as increased rapid charge and winter driving mode via ASR off button.
Also he said there is a "VW UK broadcast" later this week to provide more information for UK dealerships about build times so they can provide more clarity to customers - so will be interesting to see if there is actually much in that.

"3 months ago" doesn't really count as "information on when the car is being built" in my book

Thanks @DSMT, I've added your details. Interesting info about that "VW UK Broadcast", I wonder whether that's why my dealer said he'd contact us in two weeks rather than the usual "never, unless you email me first"

Just got an update from my dealership on my order, build week has been changed from week 9 to week 14 - unconfirmed. Starting to get impatient... but then I see folk like Utumno who have waited that long and think, well, I can't complain really!

I wish VW provided some kind of order tracker for customers rather than contacting the local dealer. Would be nice!

They used to, but they pulled it from service in the summer. I don't expect it will return anytime soon.

Jesus wept, I ordered at the end of November '21 and was told end of May '22 and reading here I thought May was never going to happen but I see you ordered in August.

Latest update from my dealer is that the car is still in build but has moved to the next checkpoint (from checkpoint 3 to checkpoint 4 of 8

). At least there's been some movement I guess !

Ive ordered through work via kinto. The dealer i believe is north london. I called to confirm if this was an error and kinto confirmed that was the mail they had from the dealer. Im hoping its just plucked out of thin air as no confirmed build date yet. still i might get my23 at this rate with software 5.0

Just had a call from the VW executive team after making a complaint about the lack of updates. Apparently my car has been built now and is awaiting quality checks, but they couldn't give me any ETA on delivery as it hasn't left the factory yet.

Hi, another newbie here. I've been watching this site for months now, hoping to get an insight on what's going on at VW regarding deliveries but it seems as if everyone is in the same boat regarding lack of clarity from VW. Why they keep telling you to contact your dealer for updates when they don't give the dealers any information is beyond me. I have been informed my car has been in build for over 2 months now but I don't believe it takes this long to assemble a car . If they have started the build and it is sitting in a carpark somewhere waiting for its ECU or other electrical; items to be fitted I would like to know. I wonder if anyone from VW is monitoring this site and getting the same sense of frustration from its contributors as I am

The woman I spoke to from the executive team said the dealerships can ring the central sales team for updates but didn't know why they don't. She also stated the information the dealerships see on their computers is usually not updated until quite late in the process.

My dealer is 15mins down the road from where I live so I have been popping in regularly for updates. I now get the impression he is tired of seeing me and would give me any titbits of information if he had it. When I visited on Monday he told me of a Tiguan buyer who ordered in August '21, was not given an order number until November '21 and has been given a build date of week 47 2022 . Whether this is true or he is just trying to make me feel better about my situation I don't know.

Surely instead of expecting the dealerships to call in for updates they should be making that information visible to the dealers in a proactive manner if it does really exist. (yes, yes, I know utopia doesn't exist

)
