Just had a email from my dealer. Build week 27 (week starting 4 July) but it might change.

Family Pro Performance in stonewash blue.
Order no: 3149xxxx
Ordered: 9 Oct 21
Had you been moved up from from later on in the year? A lot of orders placed in September/October ‘21 were sitting at a build date of May/June were all bumped to Sept/October.
No idea. I was never given a status or provisional build date. When I ordered I was told the delivery was scheduled for June 22 but might turn up earlier. I was given an order number though (31497xxx).

I was contacted in early May, to be told they had nothing to tell. Yesterday was the first real news I’d received since ordering last October.

Exciting, so could yours be one of the first 22.5 models from an order from last year? Not sure when you ordered I’m afraid.

Our order numbers are very similar as well, mine however is not even on the factory’s agenda yet! 🤣

Good news, having heard nothing for 5 months from my dealer (eta was still in assumed October) . I get a call to say that it’s built and leaving the factory! - so much for keeping me informed.. the bad news, due to the extended delay and now a change in personal situation we can now longer have it…so there is now a spare family pro going spare around!

FWIW, we ordered an ID3 Life (standard spec) in early October.

Originally we were promised a March delivery, then June.

Just heard that it's been built, is at the port in Germany and will be delivered mid-July (excited!).

Hi there,

Is it not easier to take delivery and sold it back to other VW dealerships at a profit? Understand you can no longer have the car, but a quick turn around will generate some good profit!

Worth giving it some thought, as you have done the waiting and hopefully not letting the dealership to have all the margin!

Hope this help!

Gareth

My order:

150kW Family Pro Performance 58kWh 5dr Auto
Solid - Moonstone grey
Trim: Platinum-Grey - Dusty-Grey
Ordered 29 September 2021 (Select Car Leasing)
Original date: 30/1/2022
Last estimate from broker: 30/06/2022 (No Build Week)
Order # 314642xx

Cheers

Added! Thanks 😀
Hi Utumno, I think you added the order date as 29 November 2021. The correct date is 29 September 2021.

Also, the order number cell needs just 2 X's at the end, not three, i.e. 314642xx

Cheers!
Fyi, Dealer confirmed my car will be delivered to me next week. Exactly 9 months after ordering it!
Super excited but will believe it when I see it.

Just throwing this out there but anyone on here with a recent order with Plan leasing have a Pro S Tour in White they’d want to swap for stonewashed blue at all?! 🤣

White was my first choice but when they got in touch last week with this cancelled order I jumped on it due to the deal, although they said they would swap me into a white if one came about.

We did think of it, but due to personal issues, we haven’t really the time to do it. We have though done a deal with the dealer where we get our deposit and a few thousand back. Tbh, it is better than having the hassle of trying to get to another dealer and sell it.

I think you have done the right thing, getting your deposit back and a few pounds for the wait.

Great news! Is this a 315 order number?

Would you mind updating your signature with order details?

Little update. Our 3132 family model order from august is still down as a build week 40. Seems to have stabilised the last three months so fingers crossed we may see it at some point this year. Totally lost all faith in VW and think this will be our first and last VW. The lack of communication has been abysmal from them! A little worried from what people have been saying about the grant with it looking impossible that we will get the car before September. Our dealer hasn’t even mentioned it and we’re going to go back and look at the contract to see if it mentions anything about it! My take is they should pay for it out of decency of making us wait for over a year when the initial timeline was 4 months!!

Hi Folks 👋 I ordered an ID3 Family back in late October from Listers via AutoeBid (3150xxxx). I'm yet to receive a provisional build date, and I've had monthly contact from AutoeBid to remind me of the same! I recently contacted to enquire about adding a tow bar (aka accessory/bike hitch preparation), to which I was told that any change to my build would push me to the back of the queue! I've never experienced this with optionals on vehicle orders without a build date before. Has this been the experience of anyone else here? I'm wondering if they can't gaurantee any parts for anything other than the orders that have already been secured?

Hello Lewis,

If you were to read this forum and in particular all 249 odd pages of this thread, you would quickly realise that Volkswagen believe they can do whatever they want whenever they want and however they want. It would not surprise me in any way to find out that VW would use any excuse possible to delay an order. After all, they were the company at the forefront of the emissions scandal not so many years ago.

For example, I have just received today an update email direct from Volkswagen about my order. Unfortunately, it is almost word for word exactly the same as an email they sent me back in March. Quoting Ukraine and the silicon shortage as the only reasons why they cannot deliver the car I ordered back in the 1st November last year.

Although when you look behind the curtain (by reading many many news reports, posts, etc.) you quickly learn they are very successfully making and delivering cars to Germany/US and occasionally to other customers in Europe and elsewhere. In addition there was a report recently VW had restarted various production lines having solved the issues caused by Ukraine. Yet the latest email still quotes Ukraine as a primary reason.

My advice would be to do nothing to rock the boat. can a towing hitch be added post delivery?
