Where I live there are many UBITRICITY charging points in the lampposts. This seems ideal for some charging scenarios but I can seem to even register on their website. Log in, yes. Register as a new customer, no.

Anyone using this supplier and managed to set up an account?

I don’t think they’re a charging company, they make the charging hardware in the lamppost.

There should be a QR code attached to the lamppost to scan that takes you to a website/app to start the charge.

You need to register with the app, and buy the ubricity charging cable
You cant use their point without their cable

Never used one - but the website says you can use your own type 2 cable. The specs for the chargers are all type 2 sockets as well.

OK, that is helpful. They seem to also have a smart charge cable but it is not explained on their web site.

Right! Thank you for this I can see this is explained on their web site for standard cable users and it makes sense now.

To update on this...

Right now the Ubitricity smart cable is not available to new users. I think the Ubitricity offer is in flux due to Shell being the new owner.

Charging with the lamppost or bollard chargers is pay as you go, and you need to use the QR code either from within the app (best) or via a web page which opens if you use your phones camera outside the app.

The app allows you to store payment details. The web needs you to enter them each time. After you have finished charging, your credit card is charged for that session and you are sent an email confirming the charging event (from the web) or an entry in your billing history in the app. Web based charge events do not show in the app.

Cable used is the type 2 cable that comes with the car.

You can use the Ubitricity app or the Shell Recharge app (not tested this).
