Has anyone had any luck inputting either their VIN or reg number to get the latest manual? Or is the latest manual as per the reg L3VWW edition 11.2020?

So is your ID a first edition? Or has the manual not changed since launch? I thought I read here somewhere that someone said a vehicle software update had updated the manual?

When I entered my VIN to look at the manual last week, Edition 01/2021 came up whereas previously it had been Edition 11/2020. It seemed to me that the scope and detail of the new version was limited. I managed to revert to the 11/2020 version by entering my VIN on the German web page and then translating to English. All very strange.

Here are the Contents pages:

My ID3 is not a first edition. Interestingly it knows that, coming up with this first:

I guess I will have to wait for the VW system to understand my car. Only had it 3 days.

It understood my VIN number several days before it knew my Reg Number.

I understand that the actual manual which shows is the same for everyone, regardless of the reg/VIN you enter and the spec it shows above the "View your manual" button.

My reg is now recognised for the on-line manual BUT all it is is a digital version of the short, printed version that comes with the car.

It should be a full manual, the equivalent of the 300-400 page version that came in the earlier cars - that's what I see.

I had no problem accessing the manual after entering my VIN, the problem is I can’t seem to download a copy so I need to enter the VIN every time I want to access the manual. It would be more of a problem if the manual was really good because I would want to use it more, unfortunately the manual is a bit crap.

TBF all manuals are bobbins, and VW has always been at the "worse" end of bobbins ;-)
