Little I can do about this now my order is in, but are there actually any differences between a Family with all the options ticked, and a Max?

The Max has power front seats with massage function and lumbar support, but is that it?

No Assistance Pack option on the family otherwise I would have got that option. I believe the Max has a larger battery.

The main difference is that the family is priced under £35,000 so is still able to get the government grant. Max isn't illegible so works out £2500 more expensive when taking discounts into the equation.

£1930 I think. £35815 for the Family with the Infotainment and Sports Plus packages and minus the grant, or £37745 for the Max, but you get better seats and the full complement of assistance features.

Yep, so I guess if that’s worth £1930 to you then it’s worth it. I went for the Family Pro Performance both additional plus packs. Would have liked the Assistance Plus package but couldn’t justify the extra cost. IMO safety features esp. bliss should be on all models.

According to the comparison here (untick both show only standard equipment and show only differences) https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/en/compare ... 3%22%7D%5D the only difference is the power seats, and assistance package though Lane Assist is standard anyway on all models so seems like a lot of money for slightly better seats and a couple of extra assistance features IMO.

Google “ID.3 brochure” and open or download the “Price & Specification Guide” from the VW UK site.

It details every spec and every option.

Yes the online “comparison” is a pile of old tosh.

For example if you option the Family with the “Style Plus” seats (at £1920 🤪) then you get the electric controls as well.

Basically I think the difference between a fully optioned Family and a Max may well just be :

  • Area view
  • Emergency Assist
  • Side Assist
  • Travel Assist
(Edited because I missed an option in the price list!)

Hey long time lurker not posted but I had a similar query and after ordering the family pro with literally everything bar sports suspension I was all set to go then long story short the style pack wasn’t apparently available on the family until December so my order was on hold (although the dealer failed to mention this to me) after pestering for an order number which never materialised I said fine I’ll swap to a max and get it ordered, did so got my order number but even though no grant the pcp comes out £50 cheaper a month…so I consider that to be worthwhile info if someone else is choosing between the two.

Cheers

That’s interesting. I went for fully spec'ed Family Pro though not with Style Pack but with Infotainment Plus, Sports Plus. I don’t have my order number yet so will take a look.

What does the Style Pack add?

Check the “price & specification guide” for details, it’s standard on some specs.

Yep, that’s the killer where PCP is concerned. It’s ok adding tons of options, but the GFV largely dictates the monthly payments, and that is much lower on a Family than it is on a Max. I briefly considered a Tour, and even with nearly identical OTR costs, the Tour was £40 cheaper a month.
