1. Is there any way to retract the mirrors whilst in the car?
2. There are car washes where the car is stationary and the brushes move and then there are those where the car is pulled through a tunnel by the wheels on one side. What is the correct procedure/settings for the latter?

Don't use carwashes they leave swirls all over your paintwork!

You can retract the mirrors from the vehicle/mirrors option in settings.

1. Turn the mirror control knob on the driver door.

Stay clear of any car wash, whether it be Pedro down the local tesco or the brushless ones. The brushless ones use harsh chemicals which ruin the painwork

So how do you get you car washed? I do not have time or inclination to do it myself. Is it really not safe to pay the local hand car wash?

Like all manual car washes you pays your money and takes your chance, hand is definitely better than machine washer, and i find a jet wash still leaves a film of dirt on, personally i jet wash the car and follow up with a hand wash

Take it to a detailer, most will offer a standard wash option,. Using the local car wash will ruin your paintwork as they are only interested in getting as many cars "washed " as possible in a day.

Many years ago i was educated in the fine art of car care by a detailer (where i buy all my products), believe it or not there is a correct way to wash a car and an incorrect way.

When i wash my car, it goes through 2 pre wash stages before it get the shampoo applied.

No input on the question on how to handle carwashes where the car is pulled through a tunnel by the wheels on one side?

Best offer you'll get from me is "don't use them", sorry 😂

Same here.. I wash it myself, I have been contemplating using a local hand car wash place as people I know say they are very good, but I might take my son's 10 year old Clio through first to see how they are. I don't even let the main dealer wash it after a visit.

I wash my cars when I can but also use a local handwash at a retail park as well. £6 and its really well organised and operated including a Conserve Additive before leathering off. Shine is great and that just waxed look when its raining lasts weeks.
