Volkswagen and Audi partner association have agreed a new sales model for the all-electric ID. family in Germany.

Dealers will still be around, test drive, speak to them about options, build up a specification etc.
Then order online, during the ordering process select your dealer and collect from them when the car is built.

The customer’s preferred dealer receives a commission and a bonus identical to showroom-based business, even if the vehicle is bought online. At the same time, the partner is no longer tasked with vehicle financing and the sales process is simplified because the partner no longer needs to negotiate the price.

The purchasing process of the future, with the establishment of the online channel, is one where the customer can seamlessly jump between online and offline channels. The agent will participate in both online and offline business in the future.

Dealerships function as agents and still play a central role in the sales process. They are the first port of call for customers, providing the sales consultations and in most cases being responsible for delivery too. Fixed retail locations will therefore continue to be an important and integrated part of the Volkswagen sales system.
