King Red - Bi Colour Wheel Trim

I like the wheel trims that come with the "Bi colour style pack" (silver and black), but not the rest of that style pack. It's a pity you can't order them separately. I photoshopped the bi colour trim onto the standard King Red, looks great!! Does anybody think the dealer would swap just wheel trims for me?

I can see then on eBay for £160 + delivery, but would rather get them direct from VW.

Only your dealer could tell you, but I expect not far off the same

I'd ask your dealer if he could do them at cost as you are buying a new car from them, and you want to know how helpful they can be[!] Then let Forum members buy the others from you for £20+postage each. That way you get yours for half price, and so do we. Might be more difficult if you are in the Republic...

One of mine is guaranteed to get scratched or stolen at some point.

I’ll probably just buy the bi colour ones separate. Presumably the lease company will be expecting the silver ones back, so I can’t sell them (I’m in the Uk)?

It might be a good idea to keep the silver ones scratch-less for when I swap the car in 4 years. Or do lease companies not mind a few scratches on the wheel trim (I’ve never leased before)?

Some scratches etc are allowed when considered as fair wear and tear.

If the car looks smart and super clean inside and out you will get away with minor damage as per the guide from BVLA. Worthwhile spending some time on the car in the couple of months before you hand it back to make sure the car is looking good and get minor scrapes repaired.

It's amazing how such a simple touch of colour can make a car look so much nicer. It still kinda sucks the Max doesn't come with alloy wheels as standard, but i'll be happy to live with the steelies on mine once I manage to get these wheel trims. Also, if anyone wants to try and order them from VW, the part number is apparently 10A601147BWZG

It was a big temptation, but I just couldn't justify the extra cost on top of the price of the car, plus the steelies with the wheel trims aren't the most grotesque things in the world, so I could live with them happily enough.

I did think about getting alloys but I found it's not a big deal not having them especially on a EV also once I saw the bi colour ones for 100£ was a no brainer they look cool.

Plus used money saved for a 65inch OLED TV roughly same price as alloys.

Money well spent on something I actually look at than something I don't see while driving lol.

But seriously the bi colours trim make a huge difference compared to the all silver. I would rather spend my money elsewhere than alloys which look nice but does warrant the cost and the each time you parallel park you hope not to scratch. Where as wheels and trims are easy and cheap to replace overtime anyway.

On a £39500 car it's 1.6% extra to buy alloys. Easy to negotiate them.

Hmm, we'll agree to disagree. VW's cost cutting is already running wild with cheap interior plastics, no speakers in the back, plastic wheel trims over steel wheels. Next you'll be fine with wind down windows. It's a backwards step that gives the competition the edge and really gives ammunition to those who are critical of standard equipment levels in VWs.
