I went with steel as my very car savvy colleague (he does up old cars and sells them on) replied to the question with: “alloys are more easily damaged and expensive to repair and are heavier than steel. Steel is better.”
I’ve also read you get slightly better mileage with the steel and wheel trim.
King Red - Bi Colour Wheel Trim
I agree to a certain extent i was worried about those things you mentioned before i placed my order and now have covered 5000 miles i cant say I miss those things the interior tends to be underrated etc i think its great mimalistic and nice fabric on the seats and overall great for the environment. The absense of speaker at the back its not been an issue personally , plastic wheel trims was a concern but they can be easily changed with bi colour ones that look great and unique and go well with the "green" environment aim i believe VW was aiming for as well as cost cutting but to be honest i cant say i miss alloys they are costly to replaced and can get easily damaged etcandrewparker wrote: ↑Sat Dec 18, 2021 7:49 am Hmm, we'll agree to disagree. VW's cost cutting is already running wild with cheap interior plastics, no speakers in the back, plastic wheel trims over steel wheels. Next you'll be fine with wind down windows. It's a backwards step that gives the competition the edge and really gives ammunition to those who are critical of standard equipment levels in VWs.

Hi new member was at dealer today getting current car serviced was speaking to sales specialist who informed me that due to customer feedback you can now get an option of wheel package in additional options. "Complete Wheel and Rim Offer (Seoul) £188 " but he couldn't get me a picture of wheels as it's just been added to the options list has anyone saw this option or photos would be interesting to see how they look.package also Includes Rubber Mats (Front and Rear), Load sill protector (transparent), Loadliner (basic luggage compartment floor)

Seoul trims
They should be standard but at a £188 upgrade they’re a big visual improvement.

The dual-tone wheeltrims make the steelies look a LOT more acceptable! a small, but impactful change in look for sure.

Where did you get a set for £100?
I can see them on eBay for about £160, but would snap them up at £100
