That sucks, particularly the drop down to £32,000 or less which means a cost to us of £2,500 if this change applies to orders where delivery and final invoice is pending.
The government has cut its Plug-In Car Grant for electric vehicles, reducing the size of the subsidy overnight. With little warning, the Department for Transport (DfT) confirmed the grant would be cut from £2,500 to £1,500, and the funding would only be available for cars costing less than £32,000.
id.3 Family Pro Performance ordered 8/11/21, build week 17, then 23 then 40, then 45, then 50, then delivery expected in January, 2023, picked up the car on January 16th. Yay!
Order number 31316***

There are some (positive) comments from dealers in the Price Increases thread on this topic.

So does this mean that prices are £1000 more now for all cars delivered from now on? How can that be fair if we have signed a contract?

Here's a nice article explaining it a bit more: https://www.fleetnews.co.uk/news/latest ... ia-changed

But, to quote the part that answers your question:

"It says that it will allow dealers or vehicle manufacturers to claim for any orders that were placed by customers in the seven consecutive days before the grant rate change which were not logged on the portal.

This means that any orders placed by customers between 12.01am on December 8 and 11.59pm on December 14, before the grants rate changed that had not yet been logged on the portal, will be paid at previous rates and eligibility criteria."

I'd use the same logic to apply that any orders before December 8 also would be paid at previous rates/eligibility criteria.
