Getting my ID.3 soon(at Emden waiting for a ship),
1:When charging do you plug in car first then charger or other way round
2: When charged do you unplug car then charger or other way round
Or don't matter

1. It depends on the charger
2. It depends on the charger

Read the instructions on the one you’re going to use.

Doesn't seem to matter, I just stop the charge with the app or in the car and just unplug either end first.

As I say, it depends.

Best thing to do once you have the car is go and try a few out in your area when you’re not actually needing a charge, just to try them out.

Is it a fair assumption that while plugged in, you can’t forget and drive off?
id.3 Family Pro Performance ordered 8/11/21, build week 17, then 23 then 40, then 45, then 50, then delivery expected in January, 2023, picked up the car on January 16th. Yay!

A safe assumption, yes.

stop the charger first

then unplug

or- If it is a public charger you may cause an error on the charger for the next user, who will have to call the support line to have the unit remotely reset.
I know this from experience.

Perfect, thanks. The positioning of my home charger lends itself to my reversing the car onto the driveway and leaving it plugged in on sunny days to get free solar power. And my memory isn’t what it used to be.
