Yeah, agreed, including the model equivalence, but in this case there’s a manufacturer approval system complicating matters and the Supersports aren’t part of it.

I have F1 Asymmetric currently having had PS4S prior. Very much in tune with the F1, but wouldn’t argue with the PS4S being seen as superior overall.

Happy to put EfficientGrip or e.Primacy on the ID3 when the time comes then, useful discussion 👍

So the Costco tyre offers have been updated for January, and it's Michelin on this time.

The only ones in their online search are the Primacy below, which look like they are specified as Volvo specific...

Anyone tell me what they think of the Primacy 4s? Anyone have any experience of them in colder conditions?

I'm going to head down and see the fitters, as when I've dealt with them before they've told me that the online system is completely separate to them, so they might have something else better in stock.

Don’t ours have to be special EV tyres?

I'd select the ePrimacy personally for the EV specific features, but I can't see why the Primacy 4's won't be compatible. Blackcircles will do the ePrimacy in the appropriate size for the OP fully fitted for £156.62 a corner versus £141.32 a corner for the Primacy 4's.

At that difference I personally would stump up the extra for the ePrimacy's, but I can quite see why the OP might want to be taking advantage of that Costco offer, assuming £125.98 is fully fitted.

There's an offer at the moment, meaning the Primacy 4 I posted above would be £125.98+£8.40 fitting = £134.38, less £20 per corner when you purchase 4, so £114.38 fitted each.

With that big heavy battery, the most.important factor after size is the weight rating - you'd want a minimum of "95", so 99 is plenty.

That's twice in a row they've done Michelins instead of cycling to Goodyear. Every time I've looked at my local branch (Gateshead), they've had nothing off the shelf for 18" ID3 wheels, I'd have to get them ordered in.

Gateshead's my nearest Costco, I might drop in today and have a word with them, if not I'll get some ordered online.

So the decision is Goodyear Efficient grip, at £109.39 a corner fitted, or Michelin Primacy 4 at £114.38 a corner fitted?

Anyone have any experience of those, or a comparison?

Would prefer some cross climates, but don't think I'll be able to for less than £150+ per wheel.

I thought I’d read something about needing stiffer sidewalls because of the weight. Or is that covered by what you say about the 99? I thought that was to do with the maximum speed.

You can see I don’t know much about this subject.

Those are speed ratings, not weight ratings.

You’d be looking at an XL weight rating, potentially an HL rating. VW OEM fit is still XL I believe, as HL is so new. XL tyres have stiffer sidewalls as they’re designed for big heavy SUV’s.

The numbers are weight/load ratings per tyre, the following letter is the speed rating e.g. T or V), and the term "XL" is related to the lip on the tyre to the rim once fitted and an indicator that it has a high load for its size e.g On my Polo GTI, I had 225/40 R18s on, but you could buy them in 87, 91 and 93 load rating in Costco, but only 93 was also indicated as XL

E.g. Load rating 95 is 690kg, 99 is 775kg. You want your car to weigh less than 75% of the kg rating x 4, to give you a margin when the weight isn't distributed evenly across all 4 tyres.

I had 4 ePrimacy tyres fitted a couple of weeks ago, They seem fine so far, I think quieter actually than the Bridgestones. I've not done much mileage on them yet, for some reason, but will comment if I notice anything either untoward or spectacularly good. (VW dealer still managed to estinmate the anount worn despite it being obvious they had literally just been fitted)

My Rear B'stones had done 7500 and were on the limits, I kept the fronts for emergencies but they don't have much left on them.
