Under Settings in the WeConnect app has the recommended charging changed ???

I remember the bit that said:-

"For battery friendly charging we recommend a target charge level of 80%"

but I don't remember the app going onto say:-

"this setting does not apply to charging sessions at specified charging locations"

So.... what I take from this is.. VW now state that it is OK to charge to 100% at a home/work or destination charger ???? and that the 80% recommendation is for rapid charging ????

Crikey.

No, it’s saying that if you have a location set then the settings for the location override the global settings.

I agree it could be better phrased 😀

Good practice for battery longevity is to only charge to 80% in all scenarios as the default, and charge to 100% only when you need the range, and preferably in a way that doesn't leave the battery at >80% SoC for any longer than necessary.

Although my understanding is that the location-based charging functionality is so broken that it's essentially unusable, I think the idea is that you could have, for example, an 80% charge as your default, but that could be overriden to a different percentage when charging at a specific location (e.g home / work?).
