I have ID3 since Feb 2021, brought it in for its yearly service only to be told all 4 tyres need replacing. They're Bridgestones and I have about 19k Kms done in the year. I've always had Golfs on PCP and never had to replace a tyre, so it came as quite the shock.

I want to avoid Bridgestone tyre as replacement seeing how long they lasted. Any recommendations?

If you have no reason to go all weather or Winter tyres, I'd be going Michelin Primacy 3 or 4. If you look around, you can get them for about £105 a corner fully fitted.

They'll be better than the Bridgestones on all measurable attributes of a tyre, Bridgestones are poor tyres for a top tier brand.

19k out of a set of factory fit Bridgestone tyres is pretty good a lot of people, myself included, found we were replacing them at 8000miles approx.

I have always found Michelin cross climates to be a great balance of performance, quietness and cost.

What sort of price can you get 4 of those fitted for? Only had my car a month, but I know with those naff Bridgestones I’ll be changing within 12 months.

At Costco, they're about £145 a corner fitted. Time the purchase with a regular Michelin offer for £80 off 4, and you're talking £125 a corner fitted. I'd personally rather go Primacy, given the mild Winters and well salted A road I experience on the Tyneside coast. If I lived out in the sticks, I may favour the Cross Climates.

VW advice is not to rotate, but to swap front for rear? I'm glad I've still got my axle stands! (Previous cars have all had full-spec spares.)

Swapping fronts for rears is "rotating" to even wear.
