Just enquired with my local dealer about my car's first service as I'm on 16250 miles at the minute. They've told me it'll be £222, just wondered if anybody else has had similar price?

This has been covered in previous posts about a month ago.
VW mechanics must be driving around in Rollers and wearing Rollex judging by their hourly rate.
You need to check an independent service provider on line, you would get a service for £100-£120.
As said it 2years unlimited

I must correct you on one point. Those techs will need to stay within the VAG group for their car choices, so it'll be Bentleys, not Rollers.

Wow I can’t believe is actually says “ High-voltage battery: we check the charge level and recharge if necessary”.

Just as well they do that. It really represents good value for money that they charge it up if it’s a bit low because that’s not something the customer can do themselves is it 🤣

They even check the charging cable is present and visually inspected it. I don’t suppose I’d notice if it wasn’t in the car or damaged so excellent that is part of the service!!

There's £40 of your service charge right there - 35kWh at a pound per kWh and a fiver to inspect your type 2 charging cable for 2 mins. Lots of little BS jobs to justify the ridiculous service cost when in reality there's jack-shit to check on an EV beyond a cursory look at the shocks, springs, front brake discs/pads. This is overpriced at £120 (excluding the brake fluid change you don't need at 2 years).
