App not updating unless restarting it?

Wondering if anybody else has noticed that recently, I’d say a couple weeks, when you open the WeConnect ID app, the car status isn’t updating, to get its current status you have to kill the app and reopen it, then it updates. That’s what I’m seeing at the moment, it didn’t used to be that way, it used to update without any faff.

Mine has also starting doing that on iPhone since it last updated a few days ago (I think the update was a week ago to version 1.31.0).

Also sometimes the range doesn’t update but the state of charge does, and the Widget is not always in step with the main app.

The history of that app is how not to write apps.
Bewildering VW allow that situation to just roll on damaging their brand.

Yes should have said app version 1.31.0 on iOS 15.4.1

Reported this via the app, got replies from support, first to clear the app’s cache in app settings (you can’t) and then to “unload app” in general settings (you have to reinstall), but made no difference. They have escalated it to technical team

It's just VW. They have a lot of apprentice software people at the moment - I guess?

Just applied there for a Job there. If they ask me why I'm applying I'm going to say that someone needs to show them how software is built

Looks like this issue (charge and range not updating in the app unless you kill it and restart it) has been fixed in the update to version 1.32.0 (iOS anyway).
