Have VW withdrawn the free We Charge Go offer?

I've been meaning to sign up, but wasn't in a rush, so was just going to do it before the end of June when the offer was supposed to be on until, but now it looks as if its disappeared.

What exactly were they offering? Free charging?

It was the We Charge Go plan for free, instead of the £2.99 monthly cost.

Not a lot, but I'd prefer not to pay it if possible, as I'll not use it much, just for a few trips.

There is a We Charge Free, but they had the We Charge Go level for free as well.

Just had an email back and they said they had to withdraw the offer due to the current market conditions, but have reduced the normal We Charge Go price from £5.99 to £2.99.

What is the difference between the two?

We Charge Go reduces the cost of AC charging from 45p to 35p, and DC from 60p to 45p, so upto 25% reduction in charging costs.

Ionity pricing stays the same.

Good lord, you couldn't be more subtle even if you tried. How much are VW paying you?

Normally the WeCharge service is free during the first year for the BASE service. (Level 1)
This gives a DISCOUNT on the charging fees negotiated with providers on the network
Level 2 - There is an optional subscription based service for those who do more external charging giving a higher discount on the charging fees.
The level of discount for both services depends on the charger provider and also whether the charger fees are based on connection time or KW charged.

After 1 year the Base Service is also a monthly subscription. If you are only an occasional 'external charger'
. I have not experienced 'Free charging'

For those using WeCharge for Ionity, its worth a note that Ionity has joined the list of charging providers available on the Bonnet app. This gives PAYG at 35p/kwh at the moment, and charges as low as 25p/kwh depending on the subscription. For those unaware Bonnet subscriptions include a monthly amount of charging which can rollover.
