I can only assume this is 3.2.1 as VW said that would be starting to be rolled out to cars on 3.1 and 3.2 a couple of weeks ago. Lots of people on the Facebook groups have had it.

ah - turns out my car needs to be updated at the dealer rather than OTA as it is adapted for disabled driving (I have MS and am in a wheelchair)

Hello, this may seem a daft question but how to I install this? Last 2-3 days this has come up but it never lets me press install - it’s greyed out. It has a warning sign to say close windows and doors and turn off side lights, they are off but it doesn’t install. Then when I come back to the car after several hours it hasn’t installed. Am I doing something wrong, wifi area is good. Thank you
When you get back to that screen, hold the front window switches down to fully open them, then hold them back to close them and keep them held up for about 15 seconds after the windows hit the top. Then repeat for the back windows. This will make the install button available (assuming you have turned your lights off on the dash panel) and you can press it to proceed. It's an issue with calibration of the window positions apparently. Has happened on previous OTA updates too. If you ever find one of the windows stops working as it should, eg one-press open stops working, then this can also fix that (same on many VAG cars).marsam71 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 7:05 pm Hello, this may seem a daft question but how to I install this? Just to add my experience of this OTA update. My car is was software version 3.2 from new.
I have never seen, or been able to find, the button in my VW ID profile to give consent to OTA updates.
However today, when driving, a message popped up on the infotainment screen to say an OTA update was available. When I say ‘popped up’ it did just that, it wasn’t shown as a notification on the top right of the screen that you had to press - it simply appeared. I okayed out of it and when I stopped and switched off, the exit screen had an orange message on the top line to say that an OTA update was available. It wasn’t convenient to update just then, so I left it.
When switching off after the next trip, the orange message didn’t appear on the exit screen. But it did the next time. On pressing it, it took me to the OTA screen that others have described, but the install now button was greyed out. After a bit of fiddling with both front and rear windows, the button became live and I pressed it.
It told me to exit the car and lock the doors and said the update would take 54 minutes.
When I unlocked the car after an hour, a couple of warning messages flashed up on the driver instrument screen (something to do with the parking lights I think), and shortly after a message popped up on the infotainment screen to say the car was connecting to the internet for a short while to complete the update.
After this, the warning messages / symbols disappeared, and the car seems back to normal. Software version still 3.2 as others have reported.

My ID.3 promoted me to install this today. I accepted it when I got home and it said to turn off the side lights and get out and lock the car, and it would take 52. Minutes.andy47 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 9:52 am Anyone tried this update?

2 hours later I checked it and there was some sort of lights warning on the small display behind the steering wheel. After it all loaded up I checked the version and it’s still saying 3.2. Also everything in System Information is identical to what it was before the update:
Device part number: 10A035816J
Hardware: H30
Software: 0561
Display unit/control panel hardware: H49
Display unit/control panel software: 3080
Navigation database: 23.12
So I can’t tell if it failed or succeeded.
It is still saying there are new user settings available.
After turning off the lights it would have ungreyed out the install button, did you press that? If not it won't have done it. Others have reported that if they did the update then when they first re-entered the car it gave them a brief message saying it was connecting to the internet to complete the update process. That's also consistent to when the 3.0 update programme was done (I haven't got this latest one yet).

Yes the button ungreyed out and I pressed it.sidehaas wrote: ↑Thu Feb 15, 2024 9:47 pm After turning off the lights it would have ungreyed out the install button, did you press that? Should I be seeing a new version number? It’s now saying there are no updates available, when pressing the “show all updates” button on the system info page.
No. Indeed the update "further information" tile says specifically that the displayed version number won't change. I haven't had the update yet but several people have shared that. I suspect this is because it is 3.2.1. They have never shown sub versions at that level in the car (there were several different versions of 3.0 for example but they all displayed as 3.0).ar76 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2024 3:28 amYes the button ungreyed out and I pressed it.sidehaas wrote: ↑Thu Feb 15, 2024 9:47 pm After turning off the lights it would have ungreyed out the install button, did you press that? Ah, then it’s probably done then. Never updated before. I assumed I would see some kind of “update was successful” notification or similar.sidehaas wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2024 6:46 am No. Indeed the update "further information" tile says specifically that the displayed version number won't change. You're welcome! Please share if you see others online with the same problem, it comes up all the time and this is a reliable solution. (Indeed VW have shared it themselves in the past, they know the bug happens but seems unable so far to properly resolve it).

I did this update a few days ago now.
What it did do was highlight that the rear passenger side window was open, just teeniest amount. But enough for the update not to start straight away.
As for the update, no idea what it did.
