Car is online but app says it isn't
Hi there
Since yesterday, 9 January 2025, my id.3 app has been saying the car is offline but in the car itself it's online with location data, and showing good signal strength.
Is there an app outage? I have tried restarting the infotainment system. Guessing it might be a VW server issue affecting the app.
Anyone else?

Presumably because of this Octopus Intelligent Go failed to charge last night.
If I plug in at 23.30 tonight and do not stop the charge manually (as I do usually) do you think it’ll just carry on charging to 80%?
My logic is that Octopus can’t see the car to set up a charging schedule it can’t see the car to stop the charge.
What do you think?

If you are integrated with Octopus via the car, probably yes. If you are integrated via your charger it should be ok.LongMynd wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 2:20 pm Presumably because of this Octopus Intelligent Go failed to charge last night.

My approach if it's still down tonight would be to set a schedule in the car using preferred times so that it charges between 2330 and 0530.

Mines down too. Fortunately I was able to start the charge manually as it was 11:20pm when I realised, and was happy to charge up for 10 minutes at the higher rate before it kicked in.
I’m more bothered about being able to remotely start up my heating when on a nightshift![🥶](//cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/twitter/twemoji@latest/assets/svg/1f976.svg)

Just to further confirm this....
Mine went in for some work yesterday morning and while it was there the app lost contact with the car.
I assumed VW had broken it.
But today at pick up they confirmed that there has been some sort of server issues since around mid day yesterday (Thursday) ...precisely when the app lost contact with my car. They just said try again tomorrow.
Not exactly 'rapid response' given it is now 29 hour since the issue arose.
At least there is a clear message on the weconnect website advising everybody what is going on (oh...no ...actually there isn't)

Had the same problem this morning - had to go out and set it working manually!
Not aware of an app update, but the remote activation is now working again.

Has it got the cars location right ? (guess it depends if you have moved it since the fault started)
Locations all fine. It was a small update as no indication it was installing which makes me wonder if it was a config update for the connection issues?

My car still has no connection. The car infotainment screen says it's connected to my home wifi but the app says it has no internet connection. When I plugged the car in earlier this evening the car charged immediately, Intelligent Octopus Go didn't have control. The app says the car last synced 1 day 9 hours ago.
Is there anyone we need to alert about this problem, or can we assume VW are aware and will get it sorted?

Connecting to home wi-fi does nothing, the car only uses its own sim connection. Personally I would disconnect wifi if you have it connected in case it confuses anything.

Thanks all, reassuring to know it wasn't just me. Mine is back up and running (no updates installed)... except the battery level is not correct in the app. I charged the car to 80% yesterday and the app shows 41%... but I am guessing that the servers came back while the car was "off" so it's just not pushed a battery level to the server yet.

Is there any sign of a statement from VW?
Perhaps it's too much to hope for an apology.
Our car is now connected and last night Octopus Intelligent Go did its stuff correctly.
Wouldn't it be a good idea if VW could put a brief statement, even "we have a server problem and are working on it." on the app instead of the erroneous "Your car is not connected to the internet."
