As an alternative to a roof rack for bikes, just buy a Moulton. They split in two and with Moulton's slip bags they easily fit between the front and rear seats if I have no passengers in the rear. You do have to turn the bars at 90 deg, remove the saddle and pedals. You can get pedals that remove without tools.

Hi! I am looking for a roof bar for an Id3 family - glass roof. Are there any good alternatives on the market atm? I would like to carry lightweight kids' bikes on the roof, as the adult bikes (Brompton) fit well into the boot. I like the Cruz, as it does not sit on the actual roof just on the edge of the roof so seems to be okay with the glass, but can't find out what kind of fitting kit should I buy for the bar. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

So if it is the case ID3 are not rated for roof things, why do I have screw holes for a roof thing in my ID3? I only saw them this weekend when showing a friend. Don't need it now, maybe not for a couple of years, but when I do my long trip to Greece (yes, driving all the way there :D) I will absolutely need bars for storage.

So is there nothing official still?

Yer, they've always been there, it was obviously designed at some stage with roof bars in mind but they were never approved.
