I've just been talking to my dealer as mine is now confirmed for week 39 and i also check with him your order number 319xxxxx is wrong as the order numbers are only up to 3134xxxx at this moment in time, hence that is why your order number is recognised.

Ordered mine 14 Aug, I now have an order number. VW chat can’t give me a build week yet, told me to check with my dealer. Dealer says build week unlikely until new year. So still looking like March 22 I guess. (Which is fine so long as no later than 30 April).

Your dealer may not have been able to order the car until now as there are monthly quotas. Larger dealerships have larger quotas too.
Sounds like a high number though!

Why are there quotas? What is the point? It is bad for customers who want the lowest prices. All orders should be accepted and built on a model first come first serve basis.

Not sure of the relationship between the order number and build week though. I ordered a Family Pro performance, White, Heatpump and bicycle carrier on 16th of July. Got the Order number starting 313 on the 21st of July and was able to have it recognised by the VW tracker before they took it down. Dealer told me build week is now week 47 (22Nov). So with Christmas and the new year I'm expecting a February delivery.

I don’t think there is much of a link between the two. Both the dealer and VW have confirmed BW40, which I think is next week. Bog standard spec Pure Pro Performance with no extras.
Could well be the bog spec which has done me a favour.
I placed mine on 2nd July and order number is starting 312. BW 34 and now waiting at Emden. I think that I got lucky with a vehicle that dealer had ordered for stock already.
