On the day of ordering I got my order number. The VW tracker would not accept the number that same day but the next day it accepted it and was showing on the VW tracker stating stage 2 "with the factory" and a footnote "Your order is with the factory and is currently being scheduled for production."

Thanks. Not in any particular hurry as given November as likeliest delivery.

Did you do PCP?

I've not done PCP before, so I'm unsure as to how long that should take to process, and/or if it delays the production of an order number.

The contract of sale is the order form. At the same time the salesman will ask you to fill in the PCP finance approval request.
As soon as your salesman submits your documents and you are approved they order. This happened a day after I signed the order form and finance approval documents.

You only need to actually sign for the actual PCP finance to start once the car comes into the garage, normally 1-7 days before you pick up. For me it was all electronic signing online by email alert.

Contact your salesman. If your finance was approved it will be ordered ASAP as the garage doesn't want to wait a minute normally. However I have found many salesman give poor feedback, perhaps they don't like to hassle the customer, or perhaps once you have signed the order its legally binding, so they start thinking about their next deals.
I constantly hassled my salesman, often I would get through to another salesman at the retailer, and to be fair they were always very helpful and looked in in computer to give me as much info as they could

I have just spoken to my dealer as regards to this and he says he knows of no problems with the website but if the order number is one that has been cancelled before it was given to you it will not show for some time.

Seems I’ve been checking the wrong My VW site. I’d been logging into the global dashboard and getting order number not recognised. Just logged into My UK VW site and Bob’s your proverbial. It’s with the factory being scheduled for build. Just need to keep checking for the next few months or so

Been chasing mine up. A week down the line and I don't think they've submitted the order yet

We got our order number at about 4.30pm on 26-Jul. VW UK tracker as expected didn't recognise it until the following day, status now reads "With the factory".

Now, we wait

Also something to bear in mind is that the German factories will be having their 2 week holiday in August so nothing will happen then.

Finally got mine, just mere minutes after midnight. This didn't resolve any suspicions, as it seemed like an irregular level of service for a salesman to be awake and emailing just as it ticked over to the last working day of the month

My number is 31400xxx, so if anyone's ordered in the last few days and got one under that, I'll know I've been having my leg pulled

Ordered 5th July with an order number 3136xxxx.
Still not showing on the website though
