Hey guys,
i believe this can be useful all of us. What is your ID3 battery and range you can get on your ID3?

The answer depends entirely on how you're using it and the ambient temps

Sat on the motorway doing 70mph on a warm day, if you ran it to empty from 100%, about 225 miles is achievable (based on a 240 and 275 mile to get each of our ID3s home from the very distant purchasing dealers).

If you're doing mixed.driving and took it from 100-0%, 250 miles is easily achieved.

In reality, unless you are going on a range busting single journey, you'll not take your state of charge beyond 80% and expect about 190 miles in mixed driving.down to zero.

For ne, I generally do 130 miles to get from 80
to 20% and then recharge.

Perhaps a better Q would be what is your Miles/kWh… that then accounts for the battery size and what state of charge from and to you go.

For me the average is 4. Yesterday 4.7 on a 120 mile A road round trip.

I would expect those with the smaller battery size would do marginally better in all circumstances with less weight to lug, but the trade off is range.

Same car with same size battery and same motor output comparisons show that miles per kWh is mainly related to ambient temps, use of aircon and average speed. So many other factors to consider - driving style, how much heating or cooling you use, external temps for battery warming, cruising speed etc.

There seems very little variability on that score:-

Sat on a 50/60 Road then expect around 4.5 mes per kWh.

Cruise at 70 then expect about 3.6,

Knock off 0.2 mikes for aircon use.

Who really cares when you're paying pennies for your fuel?

Long Term : 3.2 and most short term drives are under 30 miles and similar.
I live at the top of a hill and most journeys involve a drop down to sea level and then back up.. It doesn't matter how much I generate on the downhill journey, lifting 2 tonnes back up 1000ft or so kills the figures.
I might whizz over to Anglesey in the next few weeks to see if I can get into the 4s but I don't really care at the moment as it's just a short journey run about that's lots of fun.

Interesting how these threads rotate month over month.
Above 14C ambient.
Iow 270's.
4.8 miles/kw shortish runs non motorway.
4.0 miles/kw motorway.
LTA on mine 4.3 miles/kw.
Driving style is my choice to be relaxed and comfortable not to squeeze highest efficiency.

If you're prepared to sit on the motorway at 60mph then you'll be in the high 4s, but how many people sit at 60mph on the motorway?

Aye, I dream of the days when you could do 60mph. Now it's all restricted to 50mph to reduce emissions... ;)

I do in my ICE car (pending receipt of the ID.3).

I find it far less stressful, until of course you get into areas where people are doing 50 in the first lane, and 1232084344mph in the second (and refuse to move over into the third, because they are middle-lane-only ijits)

I hate motorway driving at 60mph, because you're right among the truck vying to overtake each other with a speed differential of 1mph.

I guess that's where active cruise control is useful.

I get more annoyed when people hog the middle lane doing 0.25mph more than you, or float on your blind spot whilst you're approaching something you need to move over to pass.
