I have found this forum invaluable for my first year's experience as an EV owner and driver. Many thanks to those mentioned above and all the other contributors.

Just added my purchase details to Utumno to inform others how things are proceeding at the VW factory. My order for a Life Pro 58Kwh was placed 11 October 2021 and I have just been allocated week 37 (12 September 2022) as the build week. Judging by past performance I am not expecting delivery before December i.e. 14 months after placing the order. Patience is a virtue - well done patient people!! I am hoping an increase in the supply of microchips will help to speed production but I'm not holding my breath.

If that is truly the case, VW are being thoroughly dishonest with their lead time projections, which were showing a 26 week time from order to delivery in November.

Yes, I’m in almost exactly the same position. I ordered my Life Pro Performance in White with East Derry alloys on October 11 and was quoted 26 weeks. By the time the end of that week the dealer was saying 30 weeks, but yesterday I was informed that my build week had been allocated - week 36 in September.
I suspect like oneyedpirate, it would be late November or December before it would be delivered so I will almost certainly have to cancel as these dates just don’t work for me, not just in terms of replacing my present car, but because of other personal commitments and plans I have later in the year.

monkeyhanger wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 12:19 pm Going by some of the recent delivery predictions, I think Scott and I might be placing our orders for ID3 MK2 just before you get them!
I am one year into a three year lease and just the other day was wondering how soon to start thinking about what to do next given the current delays
Hard to judge. Flexible leases that can be extended are good in this situation though. I thought I was a bit too early for my April 24th 2022 end of lease when ordering in August 2021 but in reality I was already quite a bit too late!
