The place to discuss everything else..

The comments are even more revealing, firstly the vast majority are US contributors who's grasp of Global is somewhat restricted to the US. Then there's an argument about 'luxury' cars where the Model S is heralded is as more luxurious then Porsche or Top end Audi!!
Poorly educated and insular Yanks aside..

"It will be a tight race but we won’t give up on it. I have to say we didn’t expect our main U.S. competitor to be so fast and well-prepared." - Really a CEO can stand there and say they hadn't noticed Teslas utter domination of the EV market?
Double lol for the 'So fast' ;)

I think the timeframe is mightily ambitious, particularly based on recent form. However, if anyone can do it, VW Group are IMO the most likely to be competitive. They'll do what they have done with the MQB platform, dozens of cars spread across several manufacturers, every niche filled. I do also wonder what effect opening up the SC network to all cars will have. I don't think that USP can be underestimated.

I don't think the timeframe is achievable for VW to overtake Tesla, I just don't see the level of investment in production capacity needed to do it within that period. Having said that, I'm also skeptical about Tesla's 4 million EV's a year claim. I know they have a couple of big factories coming online soon but that seems like a huge growth in 3 years.

I think something in the £25-35k bracket would be a total game changer for Tesla, but they seem intent on throwing everything at FSD instead of developing that car.
