One Quarter of UK Tesla Supercharger sites open to non-Tesla vehicles from today

The place to discuss everything else..

AutoExpress - https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/tesla/358 ... ehicles-uk

They list - Locations include Superchargers at Folkestone, Grays (East London/Thurrock), Uxbridge, Birmingham, Cardiff, Wokingham (near Reading), Thetford, Trumpington (near Cambridge), Banbury, Manchester and Flint Mountain (near Chester). Scottish locations include Adderstone, Dundee and Aviemore. Welsh coverage includes the superchargers at Aberystwyth.

If they are going to seperate them out Flint Mountain should be under Wales also.. it's near Chester but in Wales.

It also states that these 15 have 158 chargers, not that it's 15 out of 158 locations?

I wouldn't really recommend using any non-Tesla sites who perhaps misunderstand how many sites are available.

Here's a direct link to Tesla's map which shows only the non-Tesla superchargers.

Lol Your probably right, not only that but now I look at my link again, they missed Cardiff off the Wales data and seem to have moved Adderstone North of the Border.. unless there's been another invasion not so well publicised. What happened to proof reading?

I believe the correct numbers are 15 Supercharger locations (of 87 nationally) consisting of 158 (of 780 nationally) Superchargers currently available.

So, when driving around the UK, what's the easiest way to identify which locations are open to all? I did notice yesterday, when using A Better Route Planner, that it selected a Tesla site for my ID3. I ignored it, thinking it was a glitch. Maybe it wasn't.

Used the SUC at the Trafford Centre for a splash and dash yesterday.

Impressive, Effortless. App and charger sync were very quick - simply plug in, select the charger on the app, press go and 2-3 secs later it was off.

Pulled 90kw on 24% SOC that dropped to 80 when I stopped at 36%.

No access issues parking in the ‘wrong’ stall. I parked next to an Enyaq and there were 2-3 other Tesla’s there out of 18 chargers.

Good to hear - frankly the more the "Tesla charging experience" can be applied to all manufacturers the better. The Trafford Centre Superchargers look to be sensibly installed as well parallel to the charging bays.

Has anyone tried their iD3 on a V3 Tesla charger, asking as there are reports of E - Honda's DC charge system being damaged after using Tesla CPs.
As previous post I have charged ok in Dundee, not sure if they are V1 or V2s but don't think they are V3s as they have been there for over three yrs.

Haven't heard of Honda E's getting damaged, and Google doesn't return any hits when asked. Link ?

Dundee is a 150kW location, so not v3.

Yes - mine was on a V3 - absolutely fine. Pulled 90kw. Great stuff.

Tesla App
Thank you.

It is all starting to make sense now.

Not many non Tesla super charge points near my location but certainly a few on longer routes that I might usually take.

I am going to Harry Potter Studios on 3rd with my daughter and apart from 32 pod point chargers onsite I see that Tesla have 12 at South Mimms.

Great to have options!!!

The post is really helpful.

Just make sure to create an account with Tesla. I believe they don't accept contactless payment.

I believe you also need to set up a payment method within the app too.
